Such a good thing it is too. I was starting to get cranky from lack of food.
So, hopefully everyone is having a good day ... or at least a not quite so down day. Me, I'm coping. Work is stressful right now, I admit, what with implementation this week, and the next one scheduled for the end of this month. But we can cope with this. All of us. Pity UAT went so smashingly (Not problems with the systems, but problems with the organization of the whole escapade.
*sigh*
Okay, 'nuff whining.
Tomorrow morning ... 4:45am, I'll be online. And much fun will be had by all.
Plotting sounds like an excellent idea, I think. And really, I expect everyone to be happy with the results, but then I'm biased that way. I keep thinking about the latest plotting for some RS alts we did today. and more and more, it seems like the little teeny plot will rile up quite a lot of the MUSH. The ripple effect is amazing.
I like it when that happens.

Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 10:39 am (UTC)That's bad..
The idea is that all the staff know what's going on, so if someone asks, say, Clio, she can answer.
And, personally, it really pisses me off when stuff happens and people ask me and I don't know.
*points to the TP with Liam/C&C and then to Zack in Medlab*
No idea WTF went on there. :op
Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 12:03 pm (UTC)But you see, that's where staff communication comes in.

Agreed.

Me neither. Though wait, I think I know about Zack.
Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 12:09 pm (UTC)You know, I don't.
No staff communication.
And if players arrange complex TPs (like that one sounded) with just one or two staffers, then the others don't know what's going on.
So instead of plotting and making the game harder to run, plot and then /tell/ the staff so that they can run the game! :o)

Date: 2000-10-04 12:19 pm (UTC)Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 12:26 pm (UTC)Oh, and I know that the players have to do this stuff, but it doesn't hurt for them to also @mail *TP and let everyone know what's going on, direct from the horse's mouth. :op
Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 12:28 pm (UTC)Oh, you do realise that the same goes for staff? It's not a problem to drop an @mail to *TP. ;)
Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 12:58 pm (UTC)Everything breaks canon. Every character we make breaks canon in some way. ;o)
Oh, and big TP doesn't matter? Okay, so lets just have Mr Twink run a Boom! TP then, and only let us know after emitting explosions and making bbposts...
Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 01:12 pm (UTC)Big explosion /would/ affect canon. I know I suck at explaining my own ideas (especially with a headache, anyways), so fuck trying. You have your opinion, I have mine, and we both live on. :)
(Oh, and the fact that you don't communicate is still a bad excuse for dismissing my point :P)
Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 01:18 pm (UTC)I still think that it's nice for the players to let us know.
But yeah, staff communication's good too. ;o)
Anyway, want to spin this thread out a bit? Might help clear the headache? ;o>
Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 01:35 pm (UTC)Sure. Anything to avoid taking pills. :)
Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 01:42 pm (UTC)So.. what /is/ this TP about then? :o)
Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 02:03 pm (UTC)Nevermind the fact that I don't know if they plotted anything new this morning, since I couldn't bring myself to wake up at 5. :)
Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 02:09 pm (UTC)Bah, and I /was/ up at 5am (your time) too..
Always left out. ;op
Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 02:48 pm (UTC)Okay, just to keep things straight.
1) I think it is /entirely/ reasonable for someone to ask an individual staff member if a particular TP is okay, before @mailing *TPs about it.
2) I know I'm not staff on that game, but I don't see why, if the staff person says it's okay, that person can't also @mail *TP and say they know about it and this is what it is. Communication is key.
3) Sure, the player should probably @mail *TP too.
4) As it happens, I've been consulting with those whose alts might be affected, not because they might be staff, but because they have alts involved. It's kind of important to get that kind of goahead /before/ subbing the TP to the wizzes, at least in my opinion.
5) Working out possible glitches and making sure a TP is close enough to canon to pass is probably a good thing to. Good people to ask are those who have a high interest and lots of knowledge. And are available to be asked.
6) There is no number 6.
7) We still have no firm plot, so nothing to send to *TP ... but when we do, it'll get there.
8) Did I miss anything?
Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, yes I did number these items solely for #6. *grin*
Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 02:51 pm (UTC)Yeah, well that all sounds nifty. :o)
Re:
Date: 2000-10-04 02:51 pm (UTC)What's the thing with #6 anyway? I've seen the 'There's no #6' thing a few times now, but I still barely get the joke..
