*sighs*

In rp last night - well, there wasn't any, but there was planning and plotting, both of which help with rp. *smiles sweetly*

House cleaning went faster than I thought, especially since I got held up at work late, and [livejournal.com profile] wolfcat managed to get most of it done before I got home. That was nice. *beams* Thank you very much, Wolfcat!

And other than that, eh, here, have a puzzle or two:

1. Which of the words below is least like the others. The difference has nothing to do with vowels, consonants, or syllables.

READ DESSERT POLISH ANNOY

2. What two words, formed from different arrangements of the same nine letters, can be used to complete the sentence below?

The _________ parents had their video camera at the ready as their baby took his first _________ steps.

3. Figure out the pattern in the first three examples and use it to figure out the last.

6, 3, 7 (4)
2, 3, 4 (3)
1, 1, 2 (2)
9, 9, 7 (?)

Answer for 1 - that's not the answer in the puzzle calendar, but it works. I'll take it. :)

Answer 2 - Yes. that's right.

Answer 3 - not according to the puzzle calendar. How'd you get to that answer - I'm curious.

If the numbers going across are a b c and d, then d = c - | a - b |
where the pipes indicate absolute value. Then again, you could just follow the decreasing values of d in every row and say, "1". There are a lot of patterns there.

Does the 'official' answer for 1 have anything to do with homophones?

*ah!* I see. Yes, that would work for 3. It's not the official answer, but sure, it works. Well done.

And for 1 ... Yes, it does, sort of.

Actually, my answer for 1 is wrong anyway. Polish can be a noun.
