sucks, even if Borgdom is worse.

Somebody help ... I'm slowly going catatonic here ...

I need stuff to do. Preferably stuff I can do while at work.

OKay, went to the spamboard and even posted a comment or two. Whee!

And anyone reading this who hasn't yet voted in the current poll over on the spamboard, but is Greyscans staff ... DO IT NOW!!! *grin* There. you've been told. ;)

Posted the entire weekend history, give or take.

And now I'm thinking about coding ... Okay, I expect the computers aren't really necessary. Folks can use news files, really. :) It was just a thought, and upon reflection, not one of my better ones.

Question ... what does whoever starts building streets need to include for our taxi service? Inquiring minds want to know.

On the poll: I'm not voting, unless it ends up tied. :op

The computer stuff can be nice, but you can't (easily) make them work like Trek or most of sci-fi computers..

They'd probably end up like Snuffles..

:gives Snuffles a sock. works but :gives a sock to Snuffles. doesn't.

Even given that, it's surprising what you can do with just a list of acceptable verbs. Anyway. :o)

The builders don't need to do anything.
Once I know what I'm doing, I'll walk the grid and put the numbers down myself (I'll write a little bit of code that'll keep me straight for not repeating anything).

Hmmm..

Builders might actually find it useful to think of the building in terms of areas and sub-areas /anyway/, just because work is easier when you split it into bite-sized chunks. Also, having the sub-areas better defined will make for nice routing tables.
Don't feel like you've got to have nicely seperated areas though, if necessary I'll just pick arbitary points to split things down. :o)

I think that covers it all?

Well, as you can see from the stuff on the spamboard, we can actually break the building down into sections. They may or may not all be the same size to begin with. And they won't all be accessible by the same methods of transportation. For instance, you can't get to Lunar City via taxi. And only your feet will get you into the Underground. You're right though, splitting it up into buildable chunks is a great idea and one i'm going to use. See building posts on +todo list, for example. Okay, there's only one so far, but hey, it's a start. And there will be new ones. :) Honest.

I'm talking about the sub-areas.

The ones on the spamboard are the xxx in xxx.yyy.zzz, I meant the yyy areas. :o)

It might be that only the main city is big enough to support them...

*grin*

Well, the sub areas are next up. The main city will have them ... it does. The lunar colony will have a couple. That's probably the only places that are big enough to support them. Though I might be wrong there.
