So, there we go. I've read a book. It is not however fiction. Instead it's about writing fiction. Now I may never write a novel, but this book has good information on plotting in general and storytelling. So it applies to MU*'s just as well as novels. Or short stories. Or whatever other stories are being told.

It's a fun book to read, so that means it's easy to follow and the examples are pretty straightforward. Not like they'd ever be in my own writing, I'm sure. (If they were, I'd be writing the book on how to write damn good novels, rather than reading it. So, not a surprise.)

I'm amused that pages 157-159 essentially summarize all the rest of the book, with respect to tips on what and how to write. You could almost just use that as a refresher or a checklist. I suppose that is what it is meant for. And at the moment, the part that is tickling my funny bone the most is the part where the author says that good prose should appeal to all seven senses. Yes, I said seven.

Can you name them all?
