So, let's see....

No rain to speak of, though the smog and humidity are much less today. Thankfully.

Circus session tentatively booked for July 13th.

FFXI - I have finally successfully killed my first named monster, and no, it wasn't Stinging Sophie. It was Bubbly Bernie. The Crab. Interesting note - the guide has Bernie rated level 9-10 and Sophie as level 10... I had no trouble at all killing Bernie. Heck, I don't think she even hit me back for any significant hp. But Sophie? Ow, she hits hard. I think one or the other of the two is misrated. I also finished Bastok mission 1-2. (Sidenote: I can't believe that the geyser will bounce you up to level 2 of the darn maze!) But 1-3 looks to be significantly more difficult. Palborough mines has scary looking monsters. ;) Oh, and proudsky? Check your in-game deliveries. I sent you a quus, since I had 2. The map of the dangruf wadi shows just how ridiculous that place is. Dungeon, baby. Yeah - cause wow, it's a tangle. And I'm told there are worse tangles to come. Joy. Oh, and this reminds me, where do I get a map of the Palborough mines... Must find out. ;) Edit: Answer - buy it. And I even found the person to buy maps from in Bastok. If I can remember where... And Sophie it says is soloable at level 16. Don't remember seeing that before. Guess I know when to go back again. ;)

Weekend Plans: Mom and Dad arrive tomorrow, and I will be working from home to avoid the absolutely insane traffic. Have some walking, some chores, some fun (grandma's 90th birthday party - go go Family fun!) and other than that, well, I'm thinking I'd like to play some FFXI and watch An Inconvenient Truth. Maybe even make it to the gym, if there's time. For now - more work to be done.

The thing about NMs is the fact that they are never as easy as other monsters their level. HNMs and ENMs are even worse! Also, all monsters have the same job class types as adventurers. Bee is Thief, I believe. Hits hard, fast, and has high Evasion.

Thanks for the quus :) I am still level 9, and I dunno when Im gonna have the chance to get on and level more before Sunday. You are leveling too fast :P

Friday I have promised to be at an online meeting of sorts, Saturday I have to go pick Beagan from camp, then Sunday is when you and I are online.

I can't help levelling so fast - It's all new to me, and I don't have other characters to work on... ;) Also, there's folks in the Linkshell offering help. *grins* It's very nice of them, isn't it?

Actually, I have been thinking on it. Bees have Final Sting....that is alot like the Ninja 2 hour move where he/she kills themself to do major damage to a monster.

The crab is a Paladin job. High high defense and doesnt hit hard comparitavly speaking.

As for the linkshell, thats cool. It'd be nice if I was in it lol. There is something to be said about connecting and just playing at my own speed, listening to my music, no interuptions....but linkshells do come in handy.

I got myself to level 10 last night and came to the realization that there is no good White Mage gear till level 15 :P I did manage to get Stinging Sophie's item drop, Beestinger. Very nice and fast dagger. No, I didnt kill her....but I was playing nice to a fellow adventurer who killed her and got the drop. Asked me if I needed it, and I said yes :)

Thus is the lot in life a White Mage has. Get others to do your dirty work while you stand back and heal ;)

Yeah, well, it occurred to me that maybe they could give me the link pearl and then I could give it to you. So I logged on briefly at lunch (working from home today) ... and someone very kindly told me that yes, that would work. And then came by Bastok to give me the pearl. So, yeah, I got yours. :)

As for what to do... I'd like to try the Valkurm Dunes? Maybe?

I reaaaaaally need to catch up some more if we are going to the dunes. It is bad news for new adventurers. Goblins galore there.

I'll try to log in early tonight and get some levels. 1 mebbe 2. Try and catch up some more. Once I can solo Bernie, I can do that some and get some gil in my pocket as well as xp.

We should see if anyone on the ilnk has low level jobs that they might want to come to the dunes and level with us. Make it a LS party.

I bet we can find some folks on the LS, perhaps. I know I've seen some requests for such things in passing. And I'm only at level 13 war/6 mnk... but if not there - where at? Konschtat highlands?

The issue really comes when there is a gap in levels between players. lvl 13 is too high to exp with a lvl 10 character, which is why I need to catch up. Otherwise experience points will really stink, even when killing Incredibly Tough mobs.

If we duo, the highlands would prolly be better. Sheep is the main course for that menu.

It actually occurs to me that July 13th might not work...

It will largely depend on whether or not (and when) woolyfsh arrives, I expect.
