Vexillation

- a company of men of arms under one standard (or flag).

Interesting. *grins*
 Very interesting.

I'm sure they'd be very vexing if they were attacking you. Or just plain ignoring you.

In other news, bad me, skipped the gym yesterday and skipping today's walk. But preparing for graduation and party is kind of important.  So, I'll live.

Level 8 warrior now on FFXI.

Items to collect for quests:

v     4 flint stones to give to Aquilina in Bastok Markets at K9 - stone eaters drop them (reward 100 gil)

v     1 dog collar off a wolf in north/south gustaberg (reward map of the gusgen mines)

v     zinc ore drops from stone eaters (reward bronze knife)

v     robe (buy from Gelzerio, bastok mines) (reward gloves)

v     5 rusty buckets (reward 300 gil)

v     3 zeruhn soots – get in Zeruhn mines (reward 150 gil)

v     galkan sausage (do the fun search and kill, wait for the fire to cook it!!!) (reward 300 gil)

v     bone chip (reward map of the dangruf wadi)

v     quus – use to spawn bubbly Bernie and get the steam clock(reward 500 gil)

v     copper ingot – can be synthesized from 4 copper ore and a fire crystal – level 3 – and copper ore can be dropped from the stone eater types (reward 180 gil)

v     bomb ash – need to talk to Benita (J6) again, and to Tete (I5) – dropped from shrapnel which is level 8-10 …  (reward travelers hat)

Also go talk to Ciqala in the markets (Bastok) to see about buying a great axe of some form. butterfly axe if need be - I don't think I have the gil to buy an inferno axe yet. But check on that at the auction house too...

I have my sloop on Puzzle Pirates. Haughty Mako, if I remember correctly. Which means I need to buy supplies for it. Rum and cannon balls, as I recall. ;) And paint, though first I have to figure out what colours to paint it. And post an ociffer notice. Once I figure out what it should be. Then to practice my nav and bnav, so I can actually take the sloop out and not sit in one place or spin in circles...

Yeah, lots to do, game wise.

In other news, house cleaning began yesterday, but will finish up today. BBQ needs to be reviewed and in working order. And omg, I graduate tomorrow. Whee!

I'm tempted to fire up my 360 version and peek on there. What server are you on again?

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Which game? *grins*

Midgardsormr for FFXI as Cea.
Midnight Ocean for PP

[identity profile] eustacio.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
*laughs* If I was on PP on Midnight, I'd have something like 12 ships and 100,000 PoE sitting in my character's bank account. Along with a bit of old game-politics baggage.

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Well come back and start over? *grins*

Cause you know, why not? Besides, I need a crew for Haughty Mako! *bats eyelashes*

[identity profile] eustacio.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Having played the game Brawl is based off, and experiencing it on PP, that kind of pushed me over the edge on it. I am *worthless* at that game. And it kind of killed pillaging for me, knowing it was going to show up.

Plus I got to the point where I found blockades to be the most enjoyable part of the game, but I can't participate in them since they're weekend only things (or were when I left).

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Blockades still are mostly weekend things. But ... I like brawl better than swordfighting. :)

Looks like FF won't happen. My old account is linked to a dead XBox 360 gamertag that I have no interest in renewing for $50, then shelling out the cash for, as PlayOnline is all 'haha, you're on another gamertag, you can't re-register without buying a new copy of the game'.

Bah.

[identity profile] eustacio.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahh. Here's the full reason, and it's the STUPIDEST business model I've seen. From https://secure.playonline.com/polapps/s/s.kb.html.Qa?ZUID=3&polg_loc=en&id=1627&qs=id%3D0%26c1%3D0%26c2%3D0%26k%3Dforgot%2Bpassword%26s%3D0%26o%3D0%26term%3D0%26caseNum%3D10%26polg_loc%3Den

You can become a member again after unsubscribing from PlayOnline. If you return to PlayOnline within three months of unsubscribing, you can restart the same service without having to complete the regular registration process. In this case, use the "For PlayOnline Members Only" when launching PlayOnline after a reinstall to log back in using your existing PlayOnline ID and PlayOnline Password. If you return to PlayOnline three months after unsubscribing, you must register a new PlayOnline account. This means you must purchase a new copy of the software to obtain a new set of registration codes.

Oh. Well, it's only $20.00 isn't it for the Windows version?

Something to consider ... though yeah, stupid business model.

[identity profile] eustacio.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I run primarily off a laptop. Don't have the graphics card to run it very well (this isn't a gaming setup by any means).

[identity profile] eustacio.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Also, it's $50 for the 360 version, since you gotta buy FF as well to get the code.

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
so does that mean it's like $100?
I'm confused...

[identity profile] eustacio.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
$50 to get the 'new software'. AKA a new copy of FF/Play Online, which is $50. I need that to get a stupid registration code for Play Online.

Then it's whatever it is per month on top of that.

[identity profile] proudsky.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh mebbe not....didnt think about a gamer tag...

[identity profile] proudsky.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
you should still be able to link your gamertag to the PC version user code. I would try getting a PC version if your install discs are still available...

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. That's not so bad as what I was imagining. Bad enough, I agree, but I was thinking you had to pay 100$ ... which was silly. ;)

Hrmph... That's expensive, since the FFXI I bought cost half that price.

[identity profile] proudsky.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
no. You can still use your old download discs, you just need a new code. You can obtain a code by buying a PC version, which is lots cheaper.

[identity profile] eustacio.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
360 just yanks the information from the server for download. So I don't really need the download disks (in fact it went through the update process before all this mess).

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
*wrinkles nose* What the heck is a gamertag?

[identity profile] eustacio.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
XBox 360 thing. Basically a way of identifying yourself. PlayOnline links it to your gamertag.

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2007-06-14 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
And sure, do come play... ;) It's always fun with more people!
