Whee - it's summer outside today, complete with pollution, humidity and heat. Yay.

Yesterday was a good walk, today is my day off from exercise. No walking, no gym. Instead, I go household chores and rp. Whee. I'm sure there's at least 3 scenes I'm supposed to be in, if not more. But three is good enough. 

I still need to figure out an icon of a dragon on a treadmill...

And when I will be able to play FFXI ... I'm thinking Sunday I will fiddle with it, and see if I can end up dead. ;)

I kinda sorta started playin a lil bit as Monk...

Only got to lvl 3, but I will start fresh as White Mage when you and I start together. We can duo till lvl 10 then make our own parties after that. Every party needs a tank and a healer, which is what we will have since you are Warrior. With that set up, we should have no trouble leveling :)

Once we get to level 10, we can start on the Bastok Missions too to increase our Rank. Since I have never played in Basty as a home nation, its a whole new storyline for me too!

Sunday sounds keen. I usually connect around 10AM and play till about 2, then again from 8-10 that night.

Hrm.... that sounds pretty good. But ... I am walking 5km at 11 ... so won't be home until 1 or so. Course, if that works, I can log on then. ;)

I'll have to see what the plans are for Sunday. Either way, you should really connect when you have some time and look around. Get used to the controls, talk to NPCs, etc.

When you get some online time, www.allakhazam.com and www.ffxiclopedia.com are excellent resources to look up quests, missions, etc.

Both quests and missions are related to your fame and/or rank. Dont be suprised if you cant start certain quests yet. And before you ask, you raise fame by completing quests (some are repeatable) and you raise rank by completing missions.

If I cant connect Sunday afternoon, I can connect that night after the kids head to bed at 8 or so.

My plan will be to connect around 1pm on Sunday and see what happens. I'm going to operate under the assumption that you will be able to catch up with me, if by some fluke I manage to do something silly like level and you're not there. :)

I want to play, you see.

Right at the moment it looks like wednesday evenings is puzzle pirates and sundays will be FFXI - though all this walking stuff is getting in the way. *laughs*

Oh, and I did talk to a couple npcs accidentally when I first registered. I'm supposed to go talk to someone and give them something I got from this short guy. Who kept the big guy from pummelling me.

aye, that makes sense :) Go to your menu and select Quests to see what quests you are on. From there, you can visit allakhazam and see what you need to do to complete them.

Sounds like the one you are speaking of is the starter quest tho that gives you 50gil to start off with.

And I mucked that one up, believe it or not. Couldn't figure out how to give the darn thing to the npc...

bah! Course the npc did tell me how to do that - after it was too late. *rofls*

I did however deliver a grocery list to the mines ... so I did manage 1 quest successfully.
