Vacations are good for watching DVDS
SG1, S5, Ep 17 "Fail Safe". So, in the last episode, Osiris tells the System Lords that Anubis has a way to destroy Earth without the Asgard being able to pin it on them. And in this episode, there's an asteroid 136km long headed directly at earth.
Coincidence? I think not. And that was even before watching the episode. ;)
This leaves me with 5 episodes to go in Season 5. I have learned from the audio commentary that the producers/writers etc. were very uncertain if they'd be picked up for Season 6. Which perhaps explains why they pulled so many strings together, to finish up quite a few story lines. In many ways.
Or it's a good excuse at any rate.
