A Day In the Life ...
Sep. 20th, 2001 11:56 amThursday – I never could get the hang of Thursdays. It’s dull, grey and rainy today. Just the same weather that Alery had yesterday, I think. Today, it’s here. Funny thing, that.
Even coffee isn’t helping the wooly headed, headachy feeling. Bleah. Oh, I just got given a Halls by the boss. That’s fun. The developers/testers here are cool. I like them as individuals. Even if they’re already teasing me. (One already was teasing me that he wouldn’t speak English any more if I was going to look over his shoulder… giggles) Course, my French is good enough to follow most of what’s happening. So that’s a good thing. Right?
The Halls is helping my little brain think …. Ooh, nice. Though part of me can’t help but wonder how this works. Menthol… eucalyptus … strange but true.
Oh, I have watched the Blue Jays play 2 games in a row, yesterday and Tuesday. They won both games against Baltimore. Not that it matters since they’re apparently already out of the pennant race. But it was fun to watch, and it gave me something to do. Course, I did finish reading “The Dragon Reborn” and have begun on “The Shadow Rising” or whatever book 4 is called. Just so you know. And I brought my crochet and a little cross stitch project along with me … and I haven’t touched them yet. I almost forgot I had them … oh well, perhaps tonight I will get back to it.
You never know.
Anyway … time to eat lunch.

Re: Weather
Date: 2001-09-20 10:22 am (UTC)In a Noah's Flood v2, perhaps.
The problem is.. I walk out of a building, it starts raining. Fine, works for me (though a t-shirt and a light sleeveless jacket wasn't the best clothing choice I've ever made), I get on my bike and head home. It starts raining harder.
Just as my walkman gets to my fav song, which would be really good for an under-rain ride, the rain (get this) stops. Such a rip-off. ;)
Now it's started again, though. I just might go and apply for jobs now instead of waiting for later. :)
(And I can grab something to eat too.. I shouldn't spend money, but oh well.)

Good luck with the job apps. Hopefully things will go your way. Me, I'm learning all about one of the most difficult systems to test. Yay.
And speaking of chocolate ... mmmmm Caramilk. Ooh, and yesterday I had a lovely dessert. Mango, lemon, strawberry sorbet in a dark chocolate cup. Decadent...
I guess there are some benefits to this hotel life...

More so than usual.

At least I don't think so. It should still be here when you get back. :)
