Boxing Day
Dec. 26th, 2005 03:36 pmAnd believe it or not I actually went shopping. Sort of. I went to Home Depot to pick up plumbing supplies. The en suite once again has a working toilet and shower. Yay for Mom and Dad who know how to do plumbing. Dad said this one was easy compared to the one at the cottage. *laughs* Double yay!
The animals are all getting along, though we did have an incident today. It was all my fault I think. See ... yesterday, Dad and I put a new phone up in the kitchen. Yes, there is now a portable phone downstairs and one upstairs. Anyway, once it was up, it needed to charge for 15 hours. So, we ignored it until today. Today, I was talking to Mom and telling her the phone has a speakerphone, look see? And I pressed the button so the dial tone rang out throughout the kitchen and fireplace room.
Daisy cat was at the food dish when this happened. She ran. Right over at Pach who ran, right at Terry who thunked into the little stand by the fireplace on the right, knocking it over. Then I think he hit the one on the left and knocked it over. The cats all kept running in a little miniature stampede. All the way to the basement. We didn't see them for a good half hour, and even then, it was just Daisy and Apache who came back. The others were still hiding. We laughed so hard! (Okay, so maybe you had to be there, but man, those cats were a herd of elephants and about as far from graceful as a bull in a China shop.)
Oh, and I saw Apache playing with Terry cat earlier today. I think maybe the end of the world is coming.
So far as Christmas goes, it's been a nice holiday. Everyone has had a good time, good food, good company and lots of fun. And I got coconut peanut butter balls, just like Grandma used to make.
