Sigh

Dropped arwen77 off at the airport. Stayed with him through ticketing and left him in the lineup to get through security. I'm assuming all is well since he hasn't called me or anything. He had to get through security, before he could get his ride to the plane, what with his sprained ankle and all.

Mom, Dad and Magic are at my house, believe it or not. Their old house closes on Tuesday, so they're emptying out the last few things today and tomorrow and dealing with the lawyer. They left Merlin at the cottage by himself for a couple days. Wonder if they'll get home to a rabbit.... *grins* I don't think he can get outside, truthfully. Which is probably a good thing.

It feels doubly odd to have arwen77 gone, and the house that I lived in from the time I was 2 until ... well, until I was 18, with living there part time after that until I was 26 and then only when I was home in Toronto and not on assignment elsewhere. The joys of consulting - I've spent time in Boston, Seattle, San Francisco, Wilson (North Carolina), St. Catharines (Ontario), Kingston (Ontario), and some place outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan I can't recall the name of. Not to mention Toronto, and now Ajax. But of course, home for as long as I can remember has been that house on Parkfield.

Distinctly odd, for all of us.

My 6 year old cousin Lauren (who lives around the corner quite literally from my parents) apparently cried when she found out they wouldn't be living there any more. I can't blame her. She doesn't get to run around the corner to their house to visit any more. I'd be sad too, if I was her. Heck, I am sad, though in my case, it's not at all the same.

Nostalgia is quite something, isn't it?
