An easy Puzzle?

Will had a deep, dark-sided jar. The jar contained 30 jelly beans in 5 colors, an equal number of each color. Will could only reach one jelly bean at a time.

How many jelly beans would he have to pull out before he was sure he got two of the same color?

Six. In the worst case, the first five you pull will be of different colours. Then the next one is guaranteed to match one of the others.

Thanks. :)

Now post something harder?

As a maths/stats problem, the answer is six, like Alery said. But in reality, all he needs is a decent light and to actually look what he's picking up and he can get it in two. ;o)

Or you could cheat, and 'pull' out zero beans: just pour all 30 onto the table!
