Sodd and Ginger Ale.
So, today was a rather fun day. Slept in which is always a good thing on a vacation. Worked on some plotting, and a bit on a Solara post, though it’s not finished yet. Did some cross stitch, though I’m not anywhere near finished the project. I might finish it sometime this century. If I’m lucky.
We went visiting relatives today too. I met for a second time some of the relatives, and others for the first. I still haven’t met all the relatives though. But that’s okay, thery’re not as scary as my family. They fed me coffee and "traditional Norwegian fare" for dessert. I guess there were some crepe like things, and some flat breads with sugar and butter between, and some cake. Arwen77 called it "Bloody Idiot" cake, so I said that explained why he was eating it. After we all stopped laughing, he fed me some. It was a white cake, with nuts on top. Not quite what I consider a coffee cake though, no cinnamon.
We did have Sodd for dinner. That’s the soup I was talking about. It was very tasty actually. Kind of like a sausage soup, I guess, with nutmeg and ginger to spice it, amongst other things. And Carrots and potatoes. It’s served with a very thin flatbread that has some sugar on it. It’s kind of like a wafflecone, only not quite. Yeah, I’m great at descriptions, can’t you tell? And a local very nice Ginger Ale too, which was lovely with the soup. *beams* It was a good dinner.
Anyway, we went to watch King Arthur today as well. No spoilers though. I’ll just say I had fun.
And on the way back, as I was explaining to Kent Andre the Curse of the Moose, he looked out the left side of the car and said, “Look, there’s one.”
Yes, it’s true.
The curse of the moose has been broken. I saw a MOOSE!
Believe it or not. A real live honest to goodness moose standing in a field. Wayyy cool. Those things are big. (And I’m assured it wasn’t a deer in disguise.)
Wonders will never cease.
.oO(Of course, I didn't have a camera, so nobody will believe me...)
