Hey, it's a sunny day and life moves on apace.

On RS, I dusted Vir off, and he got caught in a riot and held hostage. ;) Oops?

Ah well, it was fun. Also, Sovyan has been born. *smiles sweetly*

In not so happy news, I've decided to give up my Two Moons Alts. For several reasons. First, though I have tried recently, I can't get back into rp on that particular MUSH. The elves have lost their appeal, more or elss. Second, I don't have the time to play on quite so many MU*'s, especially with the staff responsibilities on RS. Third, I'll have even less time when I get back into classes in September. Fourth, I might as well give up the magic users, so someone else can get the magics and enjoy them.

It's kind of sad, but really I'm just sentimentally lingering there. It's time to let go.

*snugs* Yep. I understand...

Yep. I hadn't rp'ed on TM in months. When I finally went back to look, poor Twi has been idlenuked. Was sad but, as you mentioned, TM just doesn't have the high appeal it used to. Elfquest in general, I think, just isn't what it used to be.

I think the "Golden Age" of EQ was before the whole Shards story arc. After that, the world got too complicated. Humans became far more of a focus than they had been before and the essential qualities of the elves seemed muddied somehow.

But, out of courtesy to those that do still play on TM and are trying to keep it alive, I'll refrain from commenting on the loss of that particular game's general appeal. I do think it's a very specific thing. I still have fond memories of it, however, and I'm sorry about how I left... though I'm not sorry that I left. It was passed time for me to go when I finally did.

Even so, giving up alts you've invested a lot of productive time and energy in is always a sad thing — no matter the game, theme, or genre.

Oh, there are still people playing there and having fun. More power to them.

It's just time for me to move on.

Let me know if you have any specific requests re: how I should mark your characters in the web page database? Anyone you want to assume is killed off? Anyone you want specific fates commented about in their comments?

*blinks* *chuckles*

Well, we already figured out Coralfire. ;)

I'll get back to you on that - there's a couple of people I need to talk to first.

Having now spoken to Orenth's player, if you could put that Leafshimmer, Willow and Orenth wander off from MistValley to see the world, that would work wonderfully.

I'm still working on the others.

Thanks!

Sure thing, I will mark them all as "Retired" for Play Status and put their last known whereabouts into their Comments fields. Thanks for the update. :)

And yes, we have indeed figured out Coralfire! I need to write some more of that, when my muse lets me have a breather from Chapter 5!

Thanks!

Can you mark Sunset as available for play - if someone wants to pick her up, they should talk to Firewater. Maybe give ownership of the cub over to Firewater? Thanks!

As for Waterlark, can you mark her as deceased, please. She was killed in a whitefin hunt, in which the elves got surprised by more whitefins than expected. 'Lark got munched, saving Sunset's life.

Leafshimmer, Blackhawk, and Willow have all been marked as requested; I +mailed PreyRunner and Lighteyes informing them of such, so that they can account for this in Mist Valley Holt RP.

Sunset has been updated as owned by Firewater and available for play; I'll let him know he can get a player for her as appropriate.

Waterlark has been updated as Deceased and her mode of death listed in her Comments field; I've mentioned this to Firewater, too.

Did this killing off get RPed on camera, or are you assuming off-camera? Want to get me a Timeline event on it?

It was offcamera, and Firewater bbposted it in Raft for me.

Thanks, very much!

Okay! I'll scarf a Timeline event from him then, or from there. You're quite welcome. :)

*sniffle*

Well, I guess I've seen this coming for quite a while. And although I would have liked to see Waterlark stick around, I'd rather not have her active on grid than someone else playing her. That would just be wrong.

Exactly what you want to do with her is up to you though, whether you want to have her killed off or somesuch, but I think that I'd like to see some form of closure on Firewater's part at least. :)
