For Elyse's warders ....
Mar. 24th, 2004 10:20 pmThe rest of you can read it if you want, but this is just to give you all an idea what would have been felt through the bond last evening...
Elyse stops at the door, and she turns on Keay. "Stop. Just stop right there. Don't you dare tell me how to mourn, or how to honour those I left behind. You don't know they lived on. We were in the middle of a battle, Keay. Tell me truthfully that they all survived that battle, if you can." Though if you try to say as much, Elyse will call you a liar to your face right at this point. "I can't say that, Keay - I was there, I was helping to lead that battle, and I can't tell if we won it or lost it. And neither can you. So don't tell me to take comfort in the fact that my loved ones live on. Twenty four hundred years later, they are quite definitely all dead, even if they survived the battle." She takes a long breath, and then she adds, "And as for making this world better, that would be best served by fixing the wrong that the White Tower has become, not by helping one person here or one there. Why dream so small when we all fight for the Light? Regardless, do what you will, but don't tell me what to do." Right at the moment, Elyse is about a heartbeat away from picking up and heading to Shienar to help fight at the Blight. At least there the Green would be useful. "Thank you for your advice, Keay, next time, keep it." And Elyse actually heads out the door now.
