A Non-Math Puzzle

Make your way from TALK to BORE in only four steps, changing one letter at a time to make a good English word at each step.

TALK
----
----
----
BORE
wibbble: A manipulated picture of my eye, with a blue swirling background. (Default)

[personal profile] wibbble 2004-02-11 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
TALK
TALE
BALE
BARE
BORE

And I'm usually terrible at those things, too.

Yep, I think that counts as a second way!

*grins* Go me.

I started that way, but I wasn't sure if 'balk' was a word, and was too lazy to look it up. ;o)

Re:

[identity profile] insaint.livejournal.com 2004-02-11 09:18 am (UTC)(link)
*snickers* It's frequently used in the books I'm reading right now.

Re:

[identity profile] insaint.livejournal.com 2004-02-11 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
I did, however, have to look up 'bale'. ;)

Re:

[identity profile] myrynvalona.livejournal.com 2004-02-11 10:20 am (UTC)(link)
*grin* Bale is easy. It's a bundled up unit of goods made easier to move around by it having been bundled up. *has fed out waaaaay too many bales of hay* ;)

Re:

[identity profile] insaint.livejournal.com 2004-02-11 10:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. But see, my brain had things confused... what I had in my head was 'hales of bay'. :)

Re:

*dies*

Good to know I'm contagiuos!

Re:

[identity profile] insaint.livejournal.com 2004-02-11 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
Good to know it's all your fault!

Re:

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2004-02-11 10:24 am (UTC)(link)
Now see, even I've fed out at least one bale of hay, and I'm a city kid. ;)

Re:

Mm. I haven't. I once tried to feed some tree leaves to a ram when I was 7. Got my ass kicked by said ram... =)

*snicker* Well, you know... How could I resist when it was so appropriate to my week?

Re: And for a 3rd way...

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2004-02-11 10:05 am (UTC)(link)
I thought it was appropriate too, actually. :)

This is what sucks about getting up later in the day. Everyone else beats me to the answers (unless Dara wants to start getting up around 3 am her time and posting these puzzles...). @#;+P
