Rainbow Gate

Ah, storms. Such wonderfully perverse things. I've always known this. It's why the Stormwardens are such a favourite of mine. They ward both against and for the Storms, of course.

So, rain wasn't supposed to start until 3am this morning. Which explains why I walked out of my nightclass into pouring rain. At 10pm last night.

*grumble*

It was a slow and obnoxious ride home, but I made it eventually, in one piece. I hate the way big transport trucks raise up a mist of dirty water to cover car windows with. I'm sure those trucks do it on purpose.

Discovered that Val, Pam and arwen77, between them, had managed to take in the patio furniture. Yay. I'm still thinking that was a great idea, considering the wind kept waking me up all night. Tired me. Go figure. And of course, this morning, the sun was fighting its way through clouds, at least in Ajax. As I started driving west, I saw a rainbow. It was a double rainbow to the north side of it. Very pretty. I thought I might drive under it, on my way to work. The passing thought then had me consider the merits of passing through a rainbow gate, and what might wait on the other side.

I don't think I did pass under it, but eventually I couldn't see it any more. The sky darkened as I continued the long trek to the west, and by the time I got to work, it was pouring elephants and whales. So I got more than a little bit wet coming from the car into the office.

But that's okay, the storm is supposedly wimping out. Only 5-10mL around here, though wind gusts perhaps up to 100km/hr.

Eh, we needed the rain anyway.

As I understand it, the worst of the rain is supposed to be from Waterloo west.
