Every morning on my way to work, I stop for coffee at the same Timothy's Coffee Shop. The staff there knows me well enough that most of the time they will just give me the usual, a large cup of whatever medium blend is smoothest. They also do a daily trivia contest, where the first ten people with the right answer get a free 12 oz coffee.

Occasionally, I know the right answer to that question.

Today's question:

In the 1960's, what publishing company was the only one willing to take a chance on Frank Herbert's Dune?

Not exactly the sort of thing I would usually know. Now, you see, one of the staff members in the store is a movie/sci-fi/comic buff and we chat once in a while. When I walked in, he smiled at me and said, "Hey, I think you might know the answer to the trivia question today, and you might be the only one." I blinked, looked at the question, and recalled a conversation we had oh, in July, I think.

"Oh, you told me this, I remember it was something I never would have expected. And it had something to do with cars." I said. But I couldn't get closer than that. Nope.

Darn.

Bought my coffee, went to get milk. We (the 3 staff on duty had a quiet moment) discussed the upcoming spiderman movie. 2002. Hmm. Funny how that's not so far away any more. I poured milk into the coffee, looked up, and blurted out the trivia answer.

Love how my brain works. *grin*

Case you're wondering, that answer:
