Stupid computers
So, mine crashed yesterday... despite being virus free as certified by 2 different virus scanners.
Ah well, the problem, you see, is that overheating bit. Seems it might just have mangled the network card or something. New case with additional fans today. Hopefully that will help.
Meanwhile, apologies to those I left midscene - it wasn't my fault, and I still can't get back on the internet on my PC at home. Just so you know. Hopefully, that will be fixed by the time I get home from Nightclass tonight.
The suckiest part is that I lost 4 hours of time to work on my accounting stuff. *sigh*
arwen77 has departed for home, and hopefully is arriving there sometime around now. With his very own talking Stitch. *mwahahahahaha*
The cluck up brigade?
Well, those of us who were still level 2 are now at level 3. And Tiaryn didn't die... not quite. ;) She did cluck up though - go figure. But in the end, they helped destroy some bad guys, and Tiaryn is beginning to take it personally that the red robed wizards and Gruumsh's priests keep picking on her ... or her family. Course, since she's only a bard, it doesn't seem to matter too much that she's getting peeved. Though - her parents did give her an interesting fireball wand. A wild fireball wand, it turns out. *shudders* That thing is scary.
Oh, and it truly sucks to be dizzy throughout the whole fight and barely able to inspire your friends with your music. But at least her friends now have to admit that Tiaryn's performances are improving. *beams* Which only means that I'll no doubt roll a 1 next time.
One of these days though, Tiaryn will manage to kill something, and the whole party will die of the shock. Including the DM. ;)
It will be interesting to see how this goes, once it's moved online. I guess we will see.

That thing is COOOOOOOOOL!
160' diameter Black Fire Ball... Woooo!
(Kiara really enjoyed that one.
I have a comic book visual of her in my head that shows her standing in front of a blackened crater, bald and red-faced with saucer-wide eyes and a large speech balloon above her head with lots of whitespace indside it and, written in really tiny letters, the word "Whoa...". Right before she grins wickedly and goes running off towards the fray, of course, but nevermind.
Hrm... Comic book version of the Cluck-Up Brigade... Now that's scary!)

Yeah, this is way nuts. ;)
I wonder if the 2 cloaks are invisibility cloaks? There's the longbow arrows that who knows what the runes say. (Darn it all, we're not high enough magic users to read the darn things!) And then there's the magic dagger, and the 2 unmarked potions. We got lots of stuff to figure out on the way to Waterdeep. ;)

Yeah, we should get
There were a few other bits and pieces that it seems Arilyn and Danilo didn't want.
Re:
Though, personally, I'm just impressed I survived. Though, my potential replacement character was turning out to be quite a giggle.
no subject
Not sure how that would work or if said DM would approve it, but it is a thought.
And maybe next session we might actually make it to Waterdeep. *laughs*
Re:

This bears a little more thought.
Will check with the rest of the crew later.
You up to coming over on Friday to watch Kenshin, even if there's no Cluck Up Brigade?
Re:
Okay. Works for me.

Re:
Since we're not going to be able to sell it, I have no objection to her reading it.
As to how to fix her charisma, if you come up with any ideas, let me know. (Kia has a -1 CHA mod.)
Though, on some level, given her natural reticence and thus the reticence of her character, it does kinda make sense. (Just like Kia's hostility makes her CHA score make sense, too.)

Wisdom never was my strong suit.
In any event ... at level 4, you get an ability point. If you put that in CHA, will it raise you to 10? If so, that will get you a 0 modifier in CHA. And there's always level 8, for the next ability increase.
Or there are magic spells that temporarily raise things like Charisma. But neither Elayne nore Tia can cast those spells as yet.
Re:
In any case, I'm not too concerned about it. I like Kiara even if she is insanely recklace.
Sanity is highly overrated.
no subject
Every 4 levels there is an ability increase. That can be useful. And of course there is the book ... right? Might be we could find other things that help in similar fashion.
Like those unknown potions/cloaks, daggers.
But your best bet is the 4th level ability increase, or a prestige class that includes ability increases. *grins*
Re:
Wendy, though. She needs something, certainly.
no subject
Indeed. Perhaps we can sweet talk the DM? I don't really know how to help the girl out.
no subject
The DM does, after all, have a badness level that is unusually high for someone of his size. *smirk*
no subject
And you know, it shows far too frequently. *grins mischievously*
Do you think we will ever make it to Waterdeep?
Re:
no subject
No doubt.
Though, if nothing else, Danilo and Arilyn might be kindly disposed towards us at the moment. Even if they might think we don't appear to need /too/ much help. *grins*
How much you want to bet that Fireball wand has no charges left?
Re:
Any group that can take out half a compound in 2 seconds looks competent.
Appearances can be so deceiving!
no subject
And that's why I'm sure the darn thing has no charges left. ;)
But well, there's only one way to find out for sure. As a bonus, Tia can now cure light wounds once per day... or she can cast mage armor once per day ... *grins*
Though I did request a DM judgement on the spells per day table for Bards. I wanted to know if the charisma bonus applies there too. If so, she can cast 2 first level spells per day! If not, well, it was worth a try. :)
Oh, and I changed my mind about the message spell. Decided that Protection from EVIL was a better choice.
no subject
*laugh* Well, yeah. Me, too...
Oh, and I changed my mind about the message spell. Decided that Protection from EVIL was a better choice.
Hell, yes!
(You'll want that spell, eventually, in my D20 Campaign, if we ever do that one, too. *wicked glint always bad to leave Ky bored and restless on a Creative Day*)
This is scrolling way too far over now.
I'll keep that in mind. ;) If we run that campaign, and I can get such a spell, it'll be fun. Mind you, I know nothing about the modern setting for this stuff. Other than there is a Mirelle class. *snickers*
Oh, and I think we should start a new stream of comments.
Gee, ya think?
Yeah. I was thinking that, too...
Mind you, I know nothing about the modern setting for this stuff. Other than there is a Mirelle class. *snickers*
The fact that there's a Mirelle class is just boggling.
But, *grin* I have no problem with the people knowing nothing about the modern setting. Makes running the campaign so much more interesting. Chargen is simple, anyway. Far less complicated than the AD&D chargen. (To a certain extent, anyway.) It's much more fun to take clueless characters and toss them into the deep end to see what happens...
Especially when what they think is the deep-end is almost invariably only the shallows!
Re: Gee, ya think?
And, btw, your badness level is just about as high as that of our current DM. *beams sweetly*
Re: Gee, ya think?
'Cause, you know, given the difference in his size to mine... That makes quite a bit of difference to the actual badness level. *grin*
Re: Gee, ya think?
But either way, it's a lot of fun.
Re: Gee, ya think?
Re: Gee, ya think?
After all, all these comments about your badness level and his say nothing about the level of badness the rest of us have achieved.
*grins*
Need I say more?
Re: Gee, ya think?
That really doesn't say much, actually.
