The HTML cleaner was recently changed to be really strict.

It's probably escaping your closing tag (causing it to display), which makes it not really close the link.

Did you type </a href> in the post? That's incorrect HTML - the tag is <a>, and so you just close it with </a>

The 'href' part is an attribute of the tag.

When closing tags, you just use the name, which is the part immediately after the <, and before the first space or the >.

(Just to explain it, and so that you don't do, say, <p align="right">...</p align> or something, which I've seen people do. :o)  )

Mmm... well, if we had the scanner, I'm sure I could find the book that said to use as the closing tag.
