Traffic was light this morning. I made it to work at 7:30am. *blinkblink*
How the heck did that happen?
Quantitative methods class yesterday. We looked at payoff tables, regret tables and decision trees. This class is going to make me remember how to do math, I can tell. *grins* Ah well, its marks include 20% test 1, 40% test 2, and 40% group project. And it's just a 6 week course. Joy. Actually though, this looks to be a course where we'll learn something, as opposed to the last 6 week course. And it has no final exam - *beams* Just one little statistical research project.
Of course, if that gets boring there's always annoying Accounting. Which I have an assignment due each of the next 4 Mondays, a final exam, and a project still to do. Bleah.
And tonight, Tiaryn makes her debut. Poor little 1st level Bard that she is. I think her Mom is a bard too, but she grew up on a small island trading post. Why her parents are there being traders, heck if I know, but hey, it works for me. I am guessing that Tiaryn is relatively popular ... hrm ... wonder if Tia can get lock picking tools from Mom ... *grins* Well, I can always try to figure out ways around it. Poor Tia is just not exactly rich, you know what I'm saying? Popular, but really, it doesn't look like her parents are good traders. *snicker*
Hrm, maybe she can go adventuring cause it beats constantly being plagued by some guy? Or maybe she can go adventuring, cause she's curious to see the world beyond this sheltered environment she's grown up in. Oh. Now that could be interesting. Wonder just how big this trading outpost is... Hey,
arwen77 are you reading this? How big is that trading outpost? 20 people? 100? 15? Inquiring minds want to know.

Date: 2003-03-07 05:55 am (UTC)It's all the people leaving early for March Break, I think - the airport is a seething mass of humanity. But the traffic is almost always lighter on Fridays in the morning - though apparently every car going in to work splits two for one through the day, so that Friday evening rush hour is always the heaviest.
I don't understand these things, just report them ...

Date: 2003-03-07 10:38 am (UTC)Maybe we can figure something else for dinner? I'm not sure what just yet, but I bet we can manage. ;) There's certainly enough of us.
Didja come up with a name yet?
Re:
Date: 2003-03-07 10:40 am (UTC)Have to let it perk some more. (Though a friend of mine from work here wants to know if he can get in on the game. I was telling him about it.)
Maybe we should just order in pizza?

Date: 2003-03-07 10:44 am (UTC)As for the friend - will he be able to manage if we take it online? Which we might well have to, once Arwen77 goes home. I also think we should see how Val and Pam like it - I can't think we want more than 5 players, really. But then, I'm not the DM. This we can talk about tonight.
I am curious though ... what did you tell him? I mean, we know next to nothing about the campaigns.
Re:
Date: 2003-03-07 10:50 am (UTC)Though, honestly, I didn't tell him much of anything, strangely enough. Only that I was going out tonight to play in Ajax. Since he lives just down the road in Oshawa he thought that was very cool and wanted to know if we needed more players. I told him I didn't know likely not, given that Pam and Val are still new but that I'd find out anyway.
If he can't come, no skin off my nose. He's got other people to play with, anyway.

I gotta find out what the sword coast is though. ;)

I'm looking forward to it.
Though it will get me offline every once in a while ...
The Dungeon Muncher replies...
Date: 2003-03-07 10:51 am (UTC)Assume it has a resident population of about 100, most of which are somehow working either for the traders guilds on the island, or run their own shipping/trading businesses.
A few of the inhabitants are former adventurers, having found the prospect of more.. quiet aquisition of wealth appealing, or running escort and aquisition services.
The reason the group will go adventuring is fairly simple; one of the characters' parents run one of these trading and aquisition companies, and will require the services of the characters for a very simple, easy task. Cough.
And Taliesin just pounced me. Brat cat.

Date: 2003-03-07 10:56 am (UTC)Good boy, Tal!
100 peoples hmm? K. There could be more than just the 5 growing up together then. *beams* Makes for interesting relationships, yes, it does.
