Okay, so about 4 inches of snow, and counting. I am working from home today but I did go out to get to the doctor's office. Managed to get there without any trouble - though there are definitely slippery spots on the roads, at least in Ajax. ;)
Got 3 needles: Hepatitis A/Typhoid vaccine, tetanus/polio/diptheria booster, and Hep B vaccine part 1. 2 shots in the left arm, and 1 in the right, and my right arm is hurting now. The left, not at all. Go figure.
Got pills - antimalarial something or other that Grant needs to stay far away from cause of his allergies. But yeah. Just took the first 2 (1 dose) ... take 1 dose weekly starting 2 weeks before you go, while you're away and then for 4 weeks after you return. Joy.
Got a vial of some stuff that goes in water with a powder for "Traveller's Diorrhea" (screw spelling that right, I don't care that much). Supposed to protect against 50% of the nasty stuff, including cholera. Just in case. 2 doses of that, but I only ever need 1 dose if I get it again, I'm told. I don't think that one lasts forever.
So,
whywhynot? You're running out of time if you want this stuff.
Typhoid, Malaria, HepA - highly recommended by my doctor... Up to you, hon!
Got back home and it took me a good half hour to get back INTO the darn garage. Yeesh. But I did it, the car is off, locked and the garage is closed. Yay. Not going out again until after the gardener.com comes by to plow the darn snow!
