I love Fridays!
Nov. 16th, 2007 01:21 pmHrm ... lessee.
The race track was interesting. Those horses are pretty neat, all told. The food was passable, though some dishes were better than others. Company was good. I lost 4$ on betting - guess I'm not a good judge of which horse is going to win a race, huh?
We got to go down to the winner's circle and give a horse (number 4, in race 4) a blanket with our company name and logo on it, as we sponsored the race. It was quite entertaining all in all. Cold outside. I don' t think the horse was particularly impressed with the new blanket either. Ah well, that's how it goes some days. The horse did try to back the sulkie (I think that's how that's spelled) up into us, but it missed. I found it interesting - the horse was smaller than I expected, actually, but very tightly conformed with really long legs. Built for speed I think, and it showed. Its lines sort of reminded me of a greyhound's, in some respect, or another fast dog that is built to run. Guess that only makes sense, if you think about it.
Left halfway through the night - give or take. Still didn't get home before 10:20pm or so. Cats were happy to see me.
So, yeah, that was Thursday. Interesting thing, the races. It's definitely more exciting when there's a reason to cheer for a particular horse.
