It occurs to me that it might be fun to go back over An Alien Affair and see what I can make of it through editting. It is, as I recall, my turn. Maybe?

Anyway, it's a thought... if only I had the free time.

(I'm also bemused at the approximately $650.00 for all 7 seasons of Voyager on Amazon.ca right now. If only I had the money, that wouldn't be a bad thought.)

DVD sets I want? Yeah, there's a lot. I listed some of them already, but hey...
I can add 24 to the list, right? And the rest of the Kenshin dvds I don't already have.

Painting - should have a blue room by the time I get home tonight. Then I need to do the trim, mop up the floor and figure out how to get everything back in there so it makes sense. I shall have to go to home depot tomorrow, I'm thinking. Shelves will be needed. Brackets. And wire protection. ;)

Then too, I need to figure out paint colours for the next room to be painted.

In RP last night, Tori was out and about on the station with her drakeling. She ran into Donavich (who dissed the Rockets! Bad him!) and Kirsten. That was fun. No rp on SGA cause the router wimped out again. Darn thing. I was looking forward to playing there too. Ah well, what can ya do?

In other news, my cats are nuts. Oh wait, that's not news, it's just the way things are. ;)

Someone remind me to check my lottery tickets.

So, I opened up the box that said "Multi-task office chair" on it, or words to that effect. The chair was in pieces. Sigh. Well, okay, I was pretty sure that was going to happen, but still. It would have been nice if it came all in one piece.

So, okay, I can do this. Step one, put the little cones on the tube. Yeah, that's easy enough. Step two, the little tube goes into the base. Check. Step three, attach the back to the seat, and screw the two together. No worries. This is a piece of cake.

Step 4, take the screws out of the chair base, so you can put the arms on and use those screws to hold the arms to the chair. Right. Need a screwdriver for that. Still not a problem - we have a screwdriver kit, so all is good. Find the screwdriver bits, but not the actual screwdriver. Darn. Well, a ratchet base thing will do. The screwdriver bits fit in there just as well. Get the first screw off. Yup, see - this is going to work! Awesome.

Then I decide I should tighten the screws holding the chair back to the seat. Lift the make shift screwdriver up and the bit falls out, right into the seat mechanism. Uhm, oops. Darn thing is stuck in there somewhere - won't come out no how. We try shaking it, turning it around, upside down, everything. No luck. So, give up on that, find another screwdriver bit that will work, because the missing one can't possibly be in the chair. It's just rolled off somewhere and the cats will find it for me. Get the left and right arms on the chair without too much trouble. It's just the darn screwdriver bit isn't the right size so it's more annoying than it should be.

The wheels on the base, that was trouble. Several jammed fingers later, Mom figured out the trick to it, and all 5 wheels are on the base. Flip it over - without the wheels falling all off - and cheer. My finger still hurts a bit, dang it.

So, then we flip the chair over, get it onto the base and figure out how to raise the back, tilt the seat, tilt the back, and how to raise the whole chair. Yay. It works. Still no sign of that darn screwdriver bit though - it's good and lost. Taliesin must have eaten it. Mom was sure it couldn't be in that chair and I really couldn't figure out where it could possibly be. There just wasn't anywhere.

Go out for a walk, taking Magic down by the lake. There are lots of dogs here, you know. It's nice to see the different breeds and chat with the friendly owners. Throw the tennis ball for the brat dog a few times and then come home to find Taliesin already curled up in the new chair. Get to watch both Magic and Taliesin chase after a fly. Neither one caught the bug, so far as I ever saw. Chat with Mom a bit more, and then come upstairs to check my email and drink a cup of coffee. Yum.

Once that's done, I go downstairs to bring my chair up, figuring I should start using it. It's heavy too. Carry it upstairs on a bit of an angle, wriggle it through the door and bump my leg on something as I go. Hear a strange sound of something falling to the floor and rolling.

*blinkblink*

Hey look, the missing screwdriver bit.
