Morning comes too early

Though at least I did sleep. And I think I must have turned the alarm off the other day when it didn't go off. Cause there's been no problem with that today or yesterday.

Just a problem with my getting out of bed.

It occurs to me that a few of my friends haven't been posting to lj of late. Now, some of them, that's no biggie - they never post anyway. But ... there's a couple now that I'm starting to worry about. If you're one of them ... *snugs* Be well. Come back soon.

Update on Val: She's staying in the hospital at least until tomorrow. Yesterday's x=-rays showed she still has pneumonia patches in her lungs. And it seems the diabetes was merely a result of her being way too dehydrated. (Which is of course what not eating and drinking will do for you.) But she says she's feeling a bit better, just really really weak. Talk about your bad case of pneumonia. Sheesh.

In other news, there is no other new. RP Stuff - Diohne doesn't much like Aidan. It's interesting to play that particular character, even if I don't want to give away too many details. I have an @mail to write though, this reminds me. Hopefully this will jog my memory tonight when I'm someplace I /can/ write such a thing. I killed off Cascade this week, and +mailed the tribe suggesting that I'm not an active enough player to be chief, with Shim. I will have to log on and see if that got any response at all. If not, I think I'll just ask the wizzen to take away the bit, and give up the ghost.

Sad though it may be.

Shim was never intended to be a chief anyway. And I'm feeling kinda burnt out. It does mean that poor Willow won't be able to grow up expecting to be chieftess, but then, I've never been a fan of that particular belief in cubs anyway. It's too bad Sureflight left, or I could have made her chief. Prolly would have, since she was all set up for it and everything. But she found better things to do with that character. Can't say as I blame her really.

I'm considering if I should give up Darksky too. She doesn't get a lot of play - never has really. I could always put her up for a new player, I suppose. Something to think about, at any rate.

Tori met Fallon, and his fuzzle. Strange things those fuzzles. Of course, it's Jean-Claude who has 9 of the things, but he doesn't seem to want to share. *grins* If he's not careful though ... he'll soon have 27. I just don't want to see those quarters on a space station.... although ... *snickers* Okay, maybe I do. That would be a hilarious scene to play.

Head is fuzzy - still more snow fronts passing through. Thankfully, no 5 inches of snow last night. I was dreading having to shovel this morning, but didn't. Of course, I think that's cause the storm didn't make it through yet, but I'm sure it will make me shovel sometime today. Or tomorrow... (No boom today. - Mmm, yeah.)

Hey, if you wanted to move Ivanova off station - how would

Hey, if you wanted to move Ivanova off station - how would <b.you</b> go about it? Comments welcome.

Throw her off?
Send Marcus on a mission and ask her to tag along? (Only if they are still... attached)
Send her on a misson?
Feed her to the PsyCorp?

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 11:27 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh ... thank you. Good suggestions, all. I'm looking to send her off permanently, unless we get someone wanting to play her. So, there has to be a way to return her to the grid ... temporary reassignment comes to mind ...

[identity profile] wolfcat.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Seconde her someplace off-station. That way she can still be 'technically' assigned to the station, but serving somewhere else.

Or, if you're in the middle of open rebellion, put her on a defecting Earthship and send her out on some top-secret mission to the opposite edge of the galaxy.

[identity profile] insaint.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's supposed to snow tonight. At least up here.. depending on where the snow is coming from it might not reach you until some time later.

On another note, Aidan doesn't trust Diohne enough to try and make her like him. He has more important things to worry about right now, though... scary.

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
Does he now?

Well, Di is totally harmless until Ia comes back, at any rate. Cause she won't go out of her way to harm anyone or anything... unless pushed. And nobody else icly knows she can ... well, maybe her father. That man seems to know a lot. ;)

And besides, it's fun if Di doesn't like everyone on the grid. Jirat scares her. Nicolai, well, she'll at least listen to him. Sabyne ... *laughs* Right. No comment. Rwn she likes, actually. And Jessa. Wyntere she doesn't trust. Go figure. ;)

[identity profile] insaint.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 08:16 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs* Everyone listens to Nicolai... What's up with that??

And whether Di is harmless or not, Aidan still doesn't trust her. As he sees it, she's changed since he last saw her and he doesn't like the changes. He just doesn't want to risk his life just yet. :) He's doing that enough as it is anyway... Maurel will be in for a shock after the siege is over.

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 10:03 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs* Everyone listens to Nicolai... What's up with that??

Well, Nicolai is friendly, doesn't tell folks what they 'should' do ... and listens...

What's not to listen to?

[identity profile] wolfcat.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
She likes Rwn? That's just impressive...

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 10:01 am (UTC)(link)
Of course shes likes Rwn...

1. Rwn didn't treat her like she's helpless.
2. Rwn listened to what she had to say.
3. Rwn actually gave her something concrete and useful to do... that's more than anyone else has ever done for the woman! (Unless you count having a baby ... )

[identity profile] wolfcat.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 11:08 am (UTC)(link)
*grin* I still say it's impressive.

[identity profile] wolfcat.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 11:28 am (UTC)(link)
*chuckles* 'Cause by the end of the scene I was so tired I couldn't see straight and had no idea what I'd actually wrote... Though it did lead Wynt to ask Rwn if she'd been trained at the Tower - and, of course, Rwn had no good answer to that.

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 11:45 am (UTC)(link)
*chuckles*

Fun fun fun, hmm? ;)

Poor Rwn. I think though, that we were all getting that tired by the end of that scene. And it is interesting to see how Di has changed. She reacts quite differently to some folks now than she used to. I'm ... bemused. ;)

But it does figure. The woman does have a backbone buried in there, after all. For a while, I was wondering.

[identity profile] wolfcat.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 11:49 am (UTC)(link)
Backbones are good things...

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 11:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yes'm.

But they can get you into big trouble in Jaramide. ;)

[identity profile] wolfcat.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I have no doubt. But, Jaramide is not long left for that earth.

[identity profile] wolfcat.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 08:58 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, Sureflight left ICly, I understand, partly because she figured with Shim's cub she wouldn't end up as chief, anyway. (And it wouldn't be all that hard to bring her back. I just don't think Sis wants to... She's having almost as hard a time as the rest of us finding decent play there.) She went off originally to help with the Plains monsters. But, frankly, I'm kinda at the point where I'm thinking about just letting Zale idle out and give up on that plot entirely. I haven't got the energy for it and I don't really think there's much of an interest for it.

Personally, I think TM needs to refocus itself - maybe go down or into a sort of beta-mode for a month or two, clean up and repair dead and broken code and update theme. Allow players to reset their characters if they'd like to, reset the tribes and, to a certain extent, the BCs (where it doesn't f*ck-up PC characters... unless their players have no problem with it) and begin again... but from a different point in EQ history. Tribes could be reworked, combined or deleted, chargen could be reorganized, and new situations could be built-in to kick-off the re-opening. Humans and Trolls could be updated, but maybe put on a restricted/app-only list since they're mostly plot devices anyway. But, I don't think that'll happen... And, frankly, I doubt I'll ever suggest it there. I don't particularly think I've much earned the right to say such things when I'm mostly idle there myself any more.

Though, I do suppose that if no one else is saying anything, either, I might as well... Or maybe it's just that I'm not getting chiefs email from there any more and don't realize I'm missing any conversation. I don't know... I almost don't care... 'Cept that I always had a soft spot for that game. It was the first game I saw any real RP on.

Ah, nostalgia. Really doesn't get y'anywhere, does it?

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
well, if there is chief talk on that game, I'm missing it too.

And while it is in fact the first MU* I played on, other than practice stuff, as I'm sure you well know, I just don't have the time to worry about it, staff-wise, any more.

And yes, I recall that Sureflight left for that reason, that she didn't think she would ever be chief if Shim had a cub. Though, I don't recall ever being asked if that was true. Or well, I was told it was true, disagreed, and was soundly ignored. *shrugs* In any event, it matters not a whit any more. Sureflight is off wherever, and I will figure out what to do with the tribe without inconveniencing anyone. Or at least... with minimal inconvenience to the tribe. Non tribe members need not worry at all. As if there ever was a chance of that happening. ;)

[identity profile] wolfcat.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
*chuckles* Not much of a chance, no.

I don't actually know what may or may not have been the case from the OOC p.o.v. - other that the fact Sis actually wasn't/isn't looking for more bits and was following the IC impulses of the character - who simply wouldn't have asked. (Cady having a bit wasn't her idea, either. It was IC fallout of the OOC situation. And while she didn't mind taking it as an IC-only thing, it wasn't really something she wanted to deal with OOCly - despite the fact she's often had to.) ICly, I know it was just something Sureflight decided and couldn't be budged from so Tacit and 'Surge didn't bother trying.

I do recall you saying it wasn't true, the idea that Shim's cub would supplant Sureflight as the heir-apparent. But, I don't really know where things went after that. I always figured it would work itself out if it needed to, or just go away if it didn't. (Personally, I still think that's true.) It wasn't something I wanted to get in the middle of, in the end.

But, yeah. All-in-all, it's a non-issue, now.

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 11:24 am (UTC)(link)
. I always figured it would work itself out if it needed to, or just go away if it didn't.

Yup. And it did, so far as I can tell.

[identity profile] wolfcat.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 11:27 am (UTC)(link)
So far as I can tell, too. Life is good...

'Cept that I tried to reply to another comment of yours on that entry we were batting back and forth yesterday... I think it cacks at 20 comments... Hrm...

Now, if only I could remember what I said.

[identity profile] wolfcat.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 11:30 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes. I remember now...

Firewater is EXACTLY who I had in mind to replace Surfs. *grin*

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 11:42 am (UTC)(link)
*dies laughing*

Oh, go for it. He's sounding bored at the moment anyway. ;)

*grins and does her best Mr. Burns impression* Eeeexcellent...

Can't post a comment to your lj atm. I've emailed support@, so hopefully they'll fix it...

So, my comment ...

Malkier and the trollocs. yes yes. tonight. Not sure what time - but if I'm late, tell Gren I'll be there! I will be fighting snow and traffic. ;)

But ... yes, having been put in a position to have an idea what Gren is planning with his lovely tactics skill ... *mwahahahaha* This could be fun!

And I am very glad that Elyse has an Area Second title now. Or else Gren was gonna lop one on Mau!

[identity profile] wolfcat.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
*snicker* Even I could see that one coming...

I'll let Gren know, if you're not around. I think it's an 8pm start time.

I keep getting errors posting comments to my journal, too... But, I don't want to send them email from work. If you have, maybe it'll get straightened out.

[identity profile] damara.livejournal.com 2003-01-09 12:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Hopefully I can make 8pm...

We shall see anyway. I'll let you know if I see any progress on the support@ thing. ;)

They're rebuilding an index, and have disallowed posting to the Chef cluster, which it seems you're on. Check lj_maintenance, if you're curious.

Oh. Okay. Thanks.

And here I just figured it was King Ramrazor of the Cybergremlins out on the attack again. He's been around often enough, lately - futzing up code, screwing up websites, mixing up URLs...

Happy that way, he is.
