sinjunOkay, so this might not freak out the rest of you ... but ... here I was this morning, driving to work. It's a beautiful day, sky is bright blue, traffic is relatively light. One of the days I almost don't mind the 66km commute.
And then I notice the black smoke. Not a lot of it, but there's some. Over towards the west and just a bit south. In fact, there's more of it, and it looks like it's coming from one of the overpasses, probably just over the east bound lanes of traffic that are even lighter than where I am, going in the opposite direction.
Kept driving. Smoke is still rising - yep, something's definitely on fire.
Traffic in my lanes slows to look. Yay. Okay, it's stupid, but at least it means I got to look without slowing traffic down any more than it already was. On the Eastbound shoulder, sort of just before the 427 (I think), there's an SUV sort of thing. On fire. hood's on fire. Where the driver and passenger would sit, that's on fire too. Heck, even the roof was visibly on fire.

Date: 2002-08-22 07:18 am (UTC)One day, coming out of Manhattan, ON a bridge, the car behind us had flames pouring out from BELOW the car. Someone finally alerted the driver to this, and they (wisely) parked the car right where it was and got the hell out.
Boy, I sure wouldn't have wanted to be behind them, though. *LOL*
