Essays that ask me to advertise and sell myself just feel wrong...

The Schulich School of Business is known for its diversity. How will you, your background and your experience contribute to learning in this environment?

Why are you seeking a graduate management degree from the Schulich School of Business? Relate your professional experience to your decision to pursue this degree.

Describe a situation or experience where you exercised leadership, responsibility and judgment and did not meet your objectives. Explain the impact of this experience on your ability to succeed in business.

They do feel wrong don't they? But it's required. It's the first of many skills that must be attained before you can even begin to learn, isn't that weird?

Ironically, it's probably one that will help more than most of the education you can get with the essay.

That place has too much of an inflated opinion of itself, I think.

The question isn't, "How much will you contribute learning to this institution." You're not there to contribute to learning... You're there and paying them to learn skills and abilities.

Sheesh. It sounds more like a country club than a grad school.

You never hear the truth of how these schools work?

Students come to the institution with some knowledge and wisdom.
They graduate in a bleary haze of ignorance and confusion.
The things they thought they knew, they leave behind, and knowledge accumulates. ;)
