Got the bike

Went riding. Wiped out...

Well, guess that was a good first ride. *beams*

It was much fun though. It's sweet to ride, that is for sure. I just need to get back in practice. Oh, and I didn't hurt myself badly. Just scraped up a knee.

In other news... Yasmin is so in trouble. The plot with Lord Farthinglen is commencing....

Those new bikes can be a bother. I remember when I was around 12 I got a new bike for Christmas, so I took it out around a couple of blocks. I'm going down the sidewalk and I saw a pile of doggy doo-doo about to get run over by my front wheel. Tried to miss it and grab the brake, but I forgot which hand went to which brake and slammed on the front brake.

Next thing I knew, I was flipping over the front of the bike. Somehow I only got a scrape or two but one of the little logo covers over a gearshift switch broke off.

The bike was never quite the same after it was moved cross-country and had to be tied to the back of the moving truck we had. There wasn't enough room inside and the weather was pretty foul going through the midwest.

A few years later I was speeding down the hill and I slowed down near the stop sign to check for traffic before crossing. I guess there was a bit of loose gravel on the road because next thing I knew, the bike was falling out from under me. Managed to get my feet beneath me and sort of run to a stop with my hands still gripping the handlebars, so that came out all right.
