Left work at noon to go to the airport. Flight 1 was cancelled. We got put onto flight 4, and on standby for flight 2. Watched the thunder and lightning storm go through over the airport from a nice cozy lounge.
Got onto flight 2. While we were boarding, flight 3 got cancelled.
We pushed away from the gate and found ourselves sitting in the plane on the tarmac. Waiting. There were thunderstorms in the airspace between Toronto and New York. 45 minutes later, still waiting.
An hour later, still waiting.
2 hours later, and the pilot comes on, with an announcement. Finally. Except the announcement was that Laguardia airport was closed due to - you guessed it - thunderstorms. Sigh.
Never mind, we give up. So those meetings have been cancelled. We'll reschedule them for another time, hopefully when there's no thunderstorms to cancel all the flights.
