As usual these days, I don't seem to have much to say when I get to this screen. But I'm going to update at least a bit.

Christmas Eve I spent at my cousin and his wife's house. Present that evening: my cousin Jason, his wife Cynthia, my cousin Lisa, her daughter Lauren, my aunt Leah and uncle Clarence, my parents, my brother, my aunt Jean, cousins Jessica and Adam, my uncle Emile and aunt Gail, and their children Adam and Katie, my cousin Tracy and her husband Jason, as well as my cousin Karen and her husband Paul. And my Aunt Annette.

Are you confused yet? For those who are in shock, this is only a small part of half of my family.

I took all my gifts for family with me, and after the party (with the absolutely scrumptious lentil soup!) I went home with my Mom, Dad, and brother John. Yes, it is true, that is his name. Anyway, we opened gifts. I got Princess Diaries on DVD to keep Shrek company. This is good, since I now own two DVDs. ;) And my brother got me some lovely wrought iron green shelves - they perfectly match the decor I'm aiming for. Such a wonderful brother I have. Really. I also got a lovely candle holder from Adam, and an adorable little Christmas Tree ornament from Jessica and Adam. It's a cat wrapped around a plastic ball that has a hamster inside. *grins gleefully*

We had a lovely Christmas dinner with all the above people, except add my cousin Colette, her husband Scott and their daughter Annick. And subtract my cousin Tracy and her hubby Jason. Whew. Such a lot of folks coming and going and coming, no?

Christmas has always been for family, and this year was no different. It's nice to see Adam and Lauren (almost 4 and almost 3, respectively) growing up and talking up a storm. And Katie is only 6 weeks old. She's adorable, no matter how you slice it.

Today, came back home. My cats were glad. Mom and Dad helped me put together a small bookcase. Whee. And then some family came over, despite the icky slippery icy roads, and the snow squalls. We had ham, and turkey soup. Yum.

I like the holidays. Every year, I get to see many of my cousins, and I get to eat my favourite turkey. this is a good thing. I also get to relax and spend some time all by myself. Me time is important, and I so often neglect it. Heck, even when I have time for it lately, I find myself online chatting with you lot, or in the midst of role play.

That's not healthy for me. I should make sure to spend some time restoring my equilibrium and just with myself, listening to my brain, my subconscious and all that junk. So poetic, aren't I? Well, no. Poetry isn't necessarily my strong point. Melodrama, on the other hand...

I'd suggest that listening to your brain might be a dangerous activity, but I won't. You know, self-preservation and all that. ;)

On a more serious note, spending some time alone is always a good thing.
