Stargate

Well, that was interesting. Since I'm home with a cold, but wasn't quite sleepy enough to sleep, I put the Stargate movie into the dvd player. The extended cut. I've heard lots of folks tell me it's a bad movie, it's nothing like the series, and so forth. My impressions? What were you all smoking?

Okay, okay, some of the special effects were off. And Kurt Russell is not Richard Dean Anderson - his chin's wayyy too big. And don't get me started on the hair! But ... the stargate only goes one way. :) And Michael Shanks did do a bang on James Spader in the beginning of the series.

Over all, I did enjoy the movie, and I think it leads into SG1 the series really well. Kudos to the folks who did SG1 - they did a great job of setting up the story. I'm glad I saw it.

In other news, being sick sucks. Big time. Bleah.

Oh, and we have rain/wet snow falling. Sideways. Perfect.

My sympatihies on the "sick" part. My youngest was sick earlier in the week. My eldest is currently sick, and i'm still iffy on the might be sick, might be recovering....

Glad you got to see the SG1 movie. I rather liked it myself. I've got the first novel (for the movie) if you want to borrow it!

Heh, I have had that movie on DVD since I dont know when. Its so old that you watch the first half of the movie, then you have to take the DVD out and flip it over to watch the second half. No joke. We're talkin' old!

Still, its a good movie. No SG1, but a good movie.
