Day 1

Awake ... 6:30am.

Out of the house ... 7:35am.

Arrived at work ... 9:12am. Yeesh.

Parked car. Went and found reception. Waited. Waited. Waited. Okay, 9:22am. My new manager made it down to collect me. Right. Up we go, and I get a temporary card key, while I wait for my next one. I get 3 tons of documentation to read, spend an hour in HR filling out forms (which weren't included in those 3 tons of documentation ... ) and get introduced to too many people to remember. I also get my network (NT) ID, and my email id. Cool. This is definitely better than the assignment way back when. The one where they emailed me to tell me what my email id was.

So ... I have this new job. It takes me forever to get there. And everyone is extremely glad to see me there. This is nice, but wow, what a lot to live up to. I've already attended 2 meetings, and that's not counting the one I was at which got cancelled. This is gonna be a very busy job. I can already tell that my rp time will suffer. Do you all think you can cope?

One of those meetings was a conference call with some folks who didn't seem very prepared to me ... and I don't really have a clue what they're doing. Not sure if they do either. Oh well, guess I'll find out as time goes on.

Tomorrow's great experiment will be to find out if I can get to work faster if I leave earlier in the morning. Stay tuned for details.

Over all ... well, I like my manager. He's cool. I like all the helpful folks I've met so far. And I think I'll enjoy the work I have to do. It'll be challenging and keep me busy, key for my enjoyment of any job. (No, I haven't necessarily had these things happen in the past. But it looks like it might be happening right now. My title seems to be Business Analyst/Testing Coordinator. Works for me.

If my brain can handle the commute ... this should be AWESOME!

Oh, left work at 5:45pm ...

Arrived home at 7:15pm. Stupid rain. It's pouring all over this shriking city. Flooding out the lower highways, and even the 401 had nasty HUGE puddles. Foggy and pouring buckets. Ick. Hurts my head too.

As I pulled onto my street, I found Ariel in a taxi ... cause she left her keys in her car ... thankfully not too far. Took her back to the shopping strip plaza and we got Swiss Chalet for dinner. Neither of us wants to cook. Can't imagine why ...

And now I'm here ... not quite done eating ... and wondering if I can manage rp... ;)

That must've been one of those pkunzip.zip situations. :)

Hmm.. sounds important.

shriking city

That is a nice word, isn't it? Yay for age-old trivia questions. ;)

Anyway.. glad you like the job (so far) even if your RP time suffers. As long as you don't disappear off the face of the Earth... :)
