So I've discovered something about RPOL's dice roller. It invariably helps players make the checks I'd rather they fail, and fail the checks I'd rather they make.

Okay, mostly.

Yes. Yes, I definitely think so...

It's amazing, really, the number of GM Fudges one could rack up there... if one were kind enough to do so. (Which we often aren't, are we? Oh well... *chuckle*)

In the B5 game I'm starting every single person so far rolled a 1 on hit points. It's getting pathetic. :)

You roll hit points at level 1 in the B5 version???? Ouch.

Yep. Chars don't get full HP at level 1 /and/ there's no CON modifier to HP. 'tis a brutal game. ;)

Well, there are definitely differences....

how many folks have you got playing in that one so far?

Not a /problem/ per se, since the players failing those rolls is ever so amusing while they're rolling in the storyline. But if this keeps up for combat, they're all going to be dead like doornails before long.

Ah well. Better keep those resurrection scrolls handy.

Yet one more flaw in the d20 system.
