He wasn't home for Christmas this year. It's the first one. He went to a friend's house and helped cook the turkey there, and he and a few friends went out to a pub for Christmas Eve. It sounds like he's keeping busy, even if he's not home.

That's a good thing.

However, he shipped me a Christmas gift: The Two Towers - Extended Edition. *beams*

What a sweet and thoughtful brother I have. And it seems he knows me very well besides. *bounces*

Yes, colour me a very happy Damara right at the moment.

I went to my Mom and Dad's open house today, after I stopped by to visit my Grandmother for an hour. I missed seeing her at the family party, so I wanted to get in there and say hi. She's a wonderful woman, even if she says that at 85 she's too old to come party with us young'uns. It's too bad - I think she'd like it if she came for an hour or so, but it is her choice. She's certainly old enough to make up her own mind. At Mom's we had quite a full house. Though I still find it amazing how much of the family isn't there, when that happens.

Let's see ... Mom and Dad and me, of course. Emile and Gail and Katrina and Adam. (I picked good gifts for those two this year, I'm told. And for Lauren too, though Lisa has a cold, so they didn't make it to the open house.) Lea and Clarence, and Cynthia and Jason came. It was nice to see them again of course. Jean and Jessica, though Stephen didn't make it. He'll be 21 this April though - wow. Karen and Tony, though both their kids are in Florida this week, training for their respective university swim teams. Colette, Scott and Annick were there. Colette looks great even if she is 6 months pregnant. It's the sort of thing that shows why people have babies, I guess. Tracy, Jason and Jordyn showed up, and yes, I held Jordyn for like 2 minutes. That was enough to get cameras flashing cause I was looking all domestic. I noticed nobody said domesticated though. ;) Shawn was there, and I hadn't seen him in a while. And Bruce and Lorraine as well. OH, and we had a contingent in from Cambridge - My Uncle Basil, Aunt Linda, and their son Wayne with his new girlfriend (I think) Maria.

Yup, it was a good party. Jessica was tired and fell asleep on the couch. Katie didn't want to leave with her parents. I think that's the first time she actually wanted to stay with us. She's only 2 you see, so it's a big step. *grins* Anyway, the little kids stole the show as usual. It was the first time I saw Jordyn - she's a cutie. Apparently she looks like the Comeau side of the family, because there's a look of her cousin Annick about her. That's kind of cool, though her dad says she looks just like him. I'm not sure I agree with him, though I have to admit I've never seen baby pictures of him, so he might be right there.

I took some leftovers too, so that's a good thing. I'm looking forward to eating more rappie pie, and Mom gave me the monterey jack cheese with the jalapenos in it, cause she and dad won't eat it. Yum.

You know, some days things just all work out.

As far as extra scenes go, I like the ones in the Fellowship better. But, the extras on the TTT are very nice. :)

Err... the latter extras being the interviews and such.

It's late.

*grins*

I just want to see the extra scenes in the movies, never mind the extras. I'm thinking there might be time to watch both Fellowship and Two Towers before we go watch Return of the King...

Sounds like a plan to me. Although I've seen them both a million times over the exam month. :)
