Ah Nuts.

How is it spread?

The mumps virus is spread when an infected person coughs and sneezes, as well as through contact with contaminated items, such as tissues, drinking glasses, and dirty hands.

The virus is most often spread within a day or two before the first symptoms appear, although it can be spread any time from 7 days before symptoms appear to 9 days after symptoms appear.

No, I don't have mumps... well, I don't think I do. :) However, someone I know does. Or might have, anyway.

To hell with the doctor. I'm pretty damned convinced it's mumps. I look like a chipmunk in autumn!

Ah well. I'm having fun with this actually. I think my odds of catching Mono are higher than my odds of catching Mumps. And we'd know sooner. Mumps has a much shorter incubation period. So, yeah. Uhm, well, you know - you got in just under the wire, if it is mumps, to even have had a chance of infecting me. ;) Good timing, that.

*laughs* Timing I've got... I can't disagree.

I've completely blown any chances of taking time off for my birthday in the process.

Actually, that reminds me. I was thinking about Mamma Mia for your birthday, but the way it looks now, we'd have to go at the end of the month anyway.

What do you think? (So it's not a surprise - sue me. ;))

*grins*

Well, with SARS and all, we should be able to get in. But we'll wait until you're feeling better (and not contagious!) before we figure out a date, yes?
