So, Ronin has a "mass" in his tummy that stretches from his liver to his bladder. Poor thing. It apparently also goes into the lining of the intestines, if not right into the intestines themselves. Poor little cat.
He's home again, and I have to follow up with my vet today. The specialist and the lab techs were very good at the referral clinic over at Yonge and Davenport. Two thumbs up for them.
I did manage to get back to Ajax before I started to cry, not sure exactly how. Ronin was a little freaked out. Go figure.
Now ... I can spend $4k to get him surgery to remove the "mass" which would allow them to figure out exactly what it is. 3 top probabilities for it are cancer, cancer and yup, you guessed it, cancer. Well, 3 different types of course, but still. 90% probability it is feline lymphoma, which has, with an additional $4k for chemotherapy, an average lifespan of 6 months to 1 year.
Yeah, not nice.
Not nice at all.
Happy freaking birthday (May 3), Ronin.
