Test Drives

So, test drove 2 cars today:
1. Mazda 3 GS Sedan
2. Nissan Sentra something or other. ;)

Interesting experience. The Mazda dealership showed me their recommended test drive circuit, handed me the keys and let me go. The Nissan guy came with me. The Mazda 3 was fun. with a moonroof and some nice bells and whistles. The Sentra was more basic, at least the model I drove was. Service was interesting. Both gentlemen were nice and friendly (of course), but the Mazda guy listened to what I wanted, and found the almost exact model for me to test drive. the nissan guy didn't seem to have as many choices to test drive, but he was quite nice. Listened to what I wanted, and then worked out pricing for me. I got starting prices for both, so I have an idea what my ballpark is.

My first impression: I like the Mazda better. It's got cooler bells and whistles and handles nicer.  And better colours. :) Okay, that's the fun stuff. Gotta check the cost of ownership junk next.

Course, I still need to double check on the maintenance costs and so on. But - they both were willing to talk about that stuff, which was nice. And they're right side by side - when I was coming back with the Mazda, I almost turned into Nissan's driveway.

And on the way home, I stopped at Timmy's for coffee. There was a Mazda 3, in the exact shade of blue I want. With the moonroof. The lady at the counter buying coffee said she's had it for 3 years and loves it. So, a customer recommendation. :)

Going to get Consumer Report information on the Mazda for sure. Maybe the Nissan too.

Did not make it to the Saturn dealership today though I was originally planning on it. It was thunder and lightning and pouring buckets, so my poor head wasn't up for it.
