sinjun: (Dragon - embroidered)
So, the cold is losing the battle, I think. Not quite gone yet, but getting there.

The weekend was lots of fun, but not so productive as it could have been. A little housework got done, but not all. Guess there's laundry on the cards tonight. Got to snuggle many cats though - that's good.

LOTRO - There's a story there. Somewhere. So, anyway, tried everything to no avail. Had a few people pointing out good suggestions and tried them all. No luck. Eventually, I accidentally ran across a post on the LOTRO forums where they suggested to someone that they try clicking the single arrow button on the launcher, selecting advanced, selecting repair graphics and see if that helped.

Heck, I was lost so I tried it.

Darn thing helped.

...

Yeah, how's that for absolutely flabbergasting.  It did not, note, make the issue go away. But it helped. So, here's the rub. It seems I am suffering from something known as the 'nVidia infinite loop bug' or some such, which is a Bios issue on the graphics card. Apparently there is a newer bios which fixes this. But - I can't find it. So, at the moment, the game at least is playable, though I do end up with random black screen, no signal, reboot the computer anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours into playing.

A step in the right direction, at least.

RP - was lotsa fun. Seriously. There was music in the White Tower courtyard, made by a bunch of suffering folks who all hated to have to take a break and play music. and the TP in 4 Kings continues apace, with actual information gleaned and progress made. We are planning to wrap up on Tuesday there.  And on SM, looonnnnng scene, that was lotsa fun. Almost blew up our own ship, but somehow managed to survive. This is good, cause I really wasn't wanting to reroll a new character there just yet.

Gardening - eh, none done. But I did visit with my aunt Jean. She brought me coffee and borrowed the lawn mower. And with [profile] akesteven and [profile] whywhynot! So, it was a good weekend, in all. Just not quite what I was intending to do.
