Are we there yet?
May. 6th, 2008 11:03 amOkay, no. We're not.
But we are getting there. One little step at a time. More or less.
Throat is sore again, and has been since late Sunday. Bah. Hopefully this goes away really soon now. Not impressed.
Notes on the Lotro Crash... So, I can launch the game no problem. I can select a character and get to the game no problem. At that point, at what seems quite random timing, the screen goes black. I get no error messages at all. I can hear the sound effects/music for a bit, but then I get a "No Signal" box on my monitor before it turns off. At that point, the only thing I have been able to figure out to do is to restart the computer.
I have double checked and/or updated my nVidia video card driver and directx 9.0c. I've double checked my firewall to make sure it has the proper exclusions. (The virus scanner shouldn't be an issue as I am getting into the game, so I understand. But I did try putting an exclusion on lotro for the active virus scan portion - no go.) I've tried unplugging my keyboard and replugging it in, in hopes that it would at least let me switch to another program and not have to reboot. Hah - so much for that idea. I have tried switching to windowed mode, lowering my graphics quality to high from very high, turning off atmospheric effects, changing sound to software from hardware, turning sound off entirely. All to no avail. Though it did seem to give me a bit longer time to play... which leads me to wonder if perhaps the video card is overheating. Thus, next up - figuring out how to use nTune and see if the card is in fact over heating. If that doesn't work, I'm gonna have to open a tech support ticket cause I'll be out of options.
No rp yesterday - I was so not in the mood. Cranky, tired, and all around negative. Hey, it happens.
At any rate, still trucking along.
