It's snowing sideways
Dec. 16th, 2007 10:26 am"My hair has gone flat. Man, I hate that."
Suppose I should have taken the bobby pins out, last night but that was too much effort and there was nobody here to help out. So they stayed in. I guess I'll have to get them out today, before I shower. Meanwhile I'm staying away from open flames. With the amount of hairspray in my hair, that's probably a really good idea.
I won a gift certificate to Sportchek at the work party yesterday. I don't know how much it's for - I haven't opened it yet, but whatever it is, will be useful. I need trackpants to wear, so I can keep walking! Another 60km in 2 days in September after all. Oh, so yeah, anyone who is thinking that they really want to give me a gift for Christmas or my birthday, but they missed or don't know what? Donations to my fundraising for the weekend walk would be amazing! I need to raise another $2000, after all. You can find the link on the side of my LJ page. Thanks!
Other than that, I met the spouses of some of the folks who report to me at work, which was nice. I discovered that they are lovely people, as I expected. The DJ was great - he had toys. A huge limbo stick full of jelly beans that one of my peers got to keep, Glow sticks, and maracas - I never am sure how to spell that, but they are fun anyway. I noticed that everyone seemed to be having a great time, at least those brave souls who made it. A lot of people were late - the traffic was horrible coming from the west. For me, actually, it wasn't too bad. The lake effect snow was more to the west than the east and that made the difference. Today though, the whole area is covered in a blanket of white snow with lots more falling from the dull grey sky.
And so yeah, today is officially a Snow Day.
