Nov. 20th, 2006 11:27 pmHaven't said much about the weekend yet. That's probably because I'm still recovering. The short version? I had a lot of fun but did nowhere near the school work I should have. So I'm going to pay for it for the next 2 weeks.
But it was fun.
Friday evening -
akesteven,
whywhynot and
wolfcat met up for dinner/dessert with me, Mom and Aunt Jean. We ate at Boston Pizza and it was pretty nice. Very relaxing though the troops did not head home until 1am.
Saturday, got up, did some housework, and headed downtown. Did some window shopping and ate lunch on the way to the 2pm showing of "Wicked." As mentioned before, that is a very good musical worth watching once. On the trailer at the official Wicked web site (don't remember the URL, sorry), it says that the musical is about watching the Wizard of Oz, only the camera pans over about 90 degrees or maybe 180, and so the musical shows us the other things that were happening, that we didn't hear about in the movie. Or the original books. There are sad moments, amusing moments, and all in all it's very good.
After Wicked, Mom and I stopped at Swiss Chalet and picked up dinner, then went to my Grandmother's to visit. Did not get home until after 10pm. Had a lovely visit with my Grandmother, who is a very sharp and with it woman. I only hope to be as lovely when I am 89 years old. Got home to discover Mom's dog Magic had been sick all over my basement floor. Ick. Double ick. Very nasty and very stinky. 60 pound dog who has his food going through him is not something I'd wish on anyone. But ... even that could not ruin the day. Course, it was another day with no school work. Are you sensing a trend?
Sunday morning, got up, had breakfast, did a bit more housework. Thanks, Mom. ;) Went out to buy a cat door (for the basement door, because that will keep Mom's other dog, Taurus, out of the basement which is an issue because he likes to chew everything including the kitty litter), some stuff Mom needed, a few groceries, and other such stuff. Didn't get home until 12:30 and so Mom cooked lunch: basmati rice, acorn squash with apples, raisins, maple syrup and a bit of butter, and maple butter salmon with walnuts. Yum. Just yum.
So, by 2pm, I was getting to school work, studying for tomorrow's quiz...
... without working on the group project yet, or the essay due next Monday or the final exam (takehome) due the Monday after that.
Yup, I'm going to pay for the next two weeks.
But darn, that was a good weekend.
