Thunderstorms yesterday were pretty impressive. Not nearly so much so where I live as in other places, which is not a bad thing. Still, I lost power four or five times once they came in.
Sorry to those I was online chatting with or in scenes with, but after the first power blip, I didn't want to risk frying my computer. While the storm might not have been quite as bad where I was as other places, it was still bad enough. And the power kept going out, so it would have been only too frustrating.
The storm came from the north, so I got to watch as the sky darkened ominously. Within about 10 minutes it went from blue to grey to black. The lightning was impressive. There was sheet lightning giving me a lovely look at the grey clouds. Then there was the nice regular lightning zig zags that lit the sky up all purple. It was pretty continuous for quite a long while. Big storm. And the sky opened up and poured buckets. I think there was even some hail in there, judging by the sounds on the roof.
House is all in one piece. No flooding.
During the worst of the storm, Cheyenne really thought she wanted to go outside, but I wasn't letting her. She was a little upset with me, but she wasn't put out. So at least she didn't get drenched and end up all drowned rat-looking.
The worst part about the storms last night is that I had some work I wanted to get done. I even had the laptop on, powered up and ready to go. I was working on it, when the first power blip occured, in between rp-age. I ended up falling asleep somewhere around 9pm or so, listening to the rain come down. It wasn't the most restful sleep, but you know, I think that will end up doing me a lot of good.
And today, the humidity and smog are much more bearable.
