I'm a Rover, Seldom Sober!
Jul. 9th, 2006 11:53 amAh, the last show of the tour... *grins*
Great Big Sea definitely did not suck last night at the concert! It was their usual amazing music and good fun. The fireworks after the show were almost as good as the band. :)
Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans were an interesting warm-up act. They sort of reminded me of Stompin' Tom... which only made it more amusing when they played the unofficial 2nd Canadian National Anthem, by Stompin' Tom Connors himself. The good old hockey game. Though, while they're interesting with some very clever lyrics and some nice instrumentation (love that big butch bull bass, for instance), they didn't really have the oomph of a really great band.
Great Big Sea is very high energy.
The Amphitheatre was packed. A very good crowd and I do think the boys enjoyed themselves. Heck, they even opened up the lawn seats which says something. Can we say ... sold out? Uhm, I think so, yes.
In other news, I watched SG1, Season 7, Episode 21. "Lost City." Yes, I am finally now all the way through season 7. And the dogfight over Antarctica finally happened! Oh, Dr. Weir as a blonde - odd. Very odd. ;) I think I like the second actress better, though I expect if they'd kept this one, it would have been just fine. And
wolfcat, it is President Hayes. He got a name in this episode. ;)
Okay then, time to get myself into gear and get things done.
