Cat's Country?
Sep. 2nd, 2005 07:16 pmYeah, so went driving way the heck up north to Pembroke to visit my Mom and Dad and see their new house. Thought it was a bit strange as we were on the way out there to see all kinds of fish shaped clouds in the sky. Usually it's dragons and wolves, but never mind. Got just south of Bancroft and stopped at Kawartha Dairy, because a pitstop was required. Okay then. We can deal with this.
"Free Kitten to a Good home."
A very cute little grey kitten who was in dire straits as the teenager who had been about to take her got overruled by her mom.
So, yes, we took the kitten up to Mom and Dad's with us. "Hi, Mom. We brought you a present."
*grins*
The kitten is very cute, just six weeks old, and full of play. She likes to climb up blue jeans and thinks that the entire house is hers to explore. Including eating the dog food and trying to get onto the dining table. She failed in that one. She did manage to follow Mom down to the basement though. And when we left this morning, Mom said she was going to keep her and see how she and Merlin get along.
That cranky old coot of a Merlin cat better behave himself, that's all there is to it. Not sure what Mom's going to name her, though I took to calling her Storm.
They have a very nice house, though the bear across the road is a bit much. Yes, they are in the middle of nowhere, except they're only about 10 minutes from Pembroke. Go figure. Now see, that's a place I'm not planning on visiting in winter...
Oh, and Kawartha Dairy has absolutely yummy ice cream. ;)
