On my way to my parents' yesterday, I ended up stopped at a red light, along with a lot of other cars. This is usual in the neck of woods in which my parents live, seeing as it is in a big city, rather than actually in any neck of woods. In any event, since I was stopped, I took a look around at the cars. Well, while waiting for the red light to turn green, what else was there to do?
The car directly in front of me was somewhat older and beat up, some shade of green I think. It had a bumper sticker which read, "Uppity Women Unite." That was kind of cool. There were two dogs flopped in the back of the station wagon, and they seemed to be generally okay with that whole travelling thing.
The car directly beside them was a newer sort, just a sedan in silver. And it had a big black labrador retriever type dog in the front passenger side, half out the window. This would have only been worth passing notice, except that it was barking. In fact, I'd have sworn it was barking at me, but I couldn't figure out why it might do such a thing. I mean, unless it didn't like red cars or something.
Anyway, I continued my survey of cars, a slight frown on my face as I tried to figure out why that dog was barking. It was just odd, you know? The car behind it was just average, or at least, if there was anything interesting, it was on the side I couldn't see. And then I looked at the car directly behind me, in my rear view and side mirror. I actually did a double take, and had to take a second look.
Sitting in the window of the driver's side of the car behind me, mostly out of the window in fact - as far as it could go without falling, was a Siamese cat.
Well.
No wonder the dog was barking.
But I'm still not sure how the cat managed to drive. ;)
