Not entirely sober post. Oops? Arwen77 was feeding me some mixed drink named after a Sea. Heck if I can give you more details, except I think it had Blue Curacao in it.
Okay, so the barbecue was fun. Couple of friends, couple of Smirnoff Black Ices, and the next thing you know it's 11:30pm and you're headed out to the piano bar. Unfortunately the birthday boy (whose 30th birthday we were supposed to go to) is in the hospital with a bad case of appendicitis. Oops? So, instead we went to listen to Carl. I like Carl, for several reasons... 1. he has a wicked sense of humour. 2. He has an interesting repertoire. 3. He knows what a bridge is, what a segue is, and how to finish a song.
Good for Carl. Hey, there's a rumour now that he might be willing to come play at Arwen77's and my wedding.
Could be interesting.
Oh, and important reasons for liking Carl also include the fact that he's from England, he looks more than a little like Garibaldi, and about the first two songs he sang, the first one was an Iszaak song, followed by a Solara song. Okay, I admit, I don't remember what songs they were any more, but it doesn't matter. They were there, I know it.
As for the birthday, well, I'd have much rather gone and enjoyed it, than hear someone is in the hospital. Poor guy. Hopefully he's doing okay. That's not exactly a good way to spend your 30th birthday, is it?
