On New Years and stuff
Jan. 2nd, 2003 02:03 pmOkay, so I've been relatively silent over the holidays. It's been an interesting time. I've found myself switching between happy and depressed, between wistful and content, between fuzzy and aware. All in the span of 10 minutes, never mind a week.
Family is wonderful. They totally amaze me sometimes.
Friends - are incredibly patient. Got a surprise chance to say hi to a friend. That was nice. Most of you lot put up with my goofy questions and strange state of mind quite well, so thank you.
Cause I'm sure it doesn't get said often enough, and it's a useful thing to say. Thank you. Thank you all.
*snugs*
Oh, sure I'm sappy. Blizzard supposedly coming through tonight. Yippy. I'm so not looking forward to the headache I can already feel teasing to come in. Bleah. But sappiness rules. If more people in this world were sappy, maybe it would be a nicer place to live?
Well, I can try. The other alternative of course is that all the sappy people would be killed off... or worse, sent to Jaramide.
*grins* Now there's a thought ...
Anyway, what did I do with my vacation? Well, a little Civ3. A lot of role play. A party or 4. Maybe 5? I've lost track. Some snuggling of cats and wishing there were people here to snuggle. Or a person anyway. I got to bug Katrina - she's old enough now I'm not afraid to break her, but she sure doesn't like being held by anyone but Mom or Dad. Lauren is the cutie with all the fun lines... She's the one who said that Uncle Emile and her grandma have the same van. They both have 1, 2, 3, 4 round wheels. Believe it or not. Adam was ill, but is feeling better now. He's pretty cute too - takes after uncle Emile. Jess painted my nails. Twice. The second time, she painted letters so I got "Donna" on one hand, and "Cutie" on the other.
Do you think she's trying to tell me something?
I got a treasure chest for my Mardi Gras beads. A nice wooden chest that's stained purple. *beams* It's perfect, my cousin Lisa is a genius.
Big Brother The Game. I wanted to try that at New Years, but we never got around to it. Of course, given that we couldn't open the Champagne for 20 minutes (I'm inept, I admit it!), that's probably a good thing. And I expect there will come a time when we'll get to play.
Christmas Decorations are still up, darn it all. At least until this weekend. Maybe next. :) I don't want to lose the nice bright decorations just yet. It's too grey.
I did not make any new year's resolutions, though perhaps I should have. I don't think they work though, so didn't bother. I did work on my web page, and oh... I went through my Jen logs and posted some. Some I just decided not to post. So now I'm reasonably up to date with everything but Tori. And that's on my hitlist for this coming weekend. Along with some cross country skiing, if I can find the energy.
I kid you not.
