Bonfield Battle X
Sep. 3rd, 2002 10:53 amHrm, so ... where was the excitement in my life of late?
Friday - got a call from the Alarm Monitoring system that my house alarm went off. Yikes!
Not sure what happened there, but home I went, as quickly as was safely possible. All is well, though I had to soothe a few panicked friends who were looking for me.
We left the house at 6:30am to go to the SCA event in Bonfield. It's about 4.5 hours north of where I live, and that's without speeding overly much.
It was hot and there were caterpillars, much to
akesteven's dismay. There were also outhouses, which did not impress Val or Irene very much. *chuckles*
On the plus side, I got to see bunches of Red Herrings and Ardchreagers, which is always nice. And Kinga, Johannes and baby Anton were there. Oooh... and Peri showed up. That was just amazing. I hadn't seen her in quite a long time. The Calontiri were there ... from Missouri, that's got to be quite the haul. It was nice to see Raud and Fernando again. (Fernando became a Herring, willingly!)
The fighters were all having fun, and the equestrian was awesome to watch. Archery was happening too - and juggling, and chatting and ... all the usual. Saw a shooting star, and some faint Northern Lights. I love Bonfield. Flirt factor is always high there as well.
We packed up and left on Sunday when the nice big clouds started slurfing up water. I don't know where it rained, but I know it rained somewhere. Pressure system changed too, and messed up my poor little head.
That's it for this update, except - oh, yeah, for those who are wondering, I will likely not be online tonight. It's my first day of classes.
