Holiday Mondays are Great
Aug. 5th, 2002 11:32 amSo let's see. Saturday - hung around and relaxed for a while. then went up to the cottage. Took Grant along - he needed a break from the city and despite being my friend for what ... 12 years now? ... he'd never been before. Inconceivable! I don't know how that happened.
Anyway, besides Mom and Dad, there were Jean and Jessica (who says Hi to those of you she knows), Emile, Gail, Adam and Katrina. Whee. Lots of fun. Course, Katie isn't yet a year old, but she's a sweetheart anyway. Adam is very cute at 5.
We got to relax some more, in a very green setting. Played frisbee for a while - I haven't done that in years. It was fun. Chatted and teased - the usual. Also went for a paddleboat ride. We took Adam for a short ride and showed him a couple turtles. Then Grant and I went for a longer ride, and disturbed a flock of geese. That was fun too.
We played a game of Phase 10 - I managed to win, but you know what? It was tough going against Jessica and Grant. Cardsharks, I think. :)
There was a little rain shower over dinner time, but it was stopping by the time Grant and I were packing up to head home. Hit traffic on the 401, cause somebody flipped their car, and they had to close the highway for a couple hours. It took us an hour to go 10km - and unfortunately, we were between exits, so couldn't even exit. Other than that though, things were fine.
Nicely relaxing.
Today though - well, relaxing is good. But I'm finding myself needing that Tylenol. Bleah.
