Becomes the Dragon

When first the mighty dragon spread his wings
Through an obsidian sky he did soar.
Nations crumbled at his glowing fierce roar
And terror struck the hearts of queens and kings.
Darkness grew light, in searing fire filled rings.
Wond’ring masses cried out to learn the lore -
Temperature rising still chilled to the core
All of the sages who know of these things.
In a world ever frozen who can tell
What raising the ebon shade will unfold?
Daylight broke brightly, the riots to quell,
As sun dragon shone like flame burnished gold.
The nobles who watched in stark, silent fright
Gave way to the peasants new cries of delight.

Comments on my feeble attempts at poetry are of course welcome. Specially constructive ones.
